Hi, I’m Nicky (24 female) I live here permanently with Nico (22 male), however Nico is moving out mid June so I will be looking for another flatmate for the 3rd bedroom as well soon.
I’m a part time student with the Open University. I’ve lived with friends and strangers for the last 4/5 years so I make sure to be considerate of other people’s space and communal areas. I study from home some days and others in the library so I’ll be in and out a fair bit.
The property has great locality. It’s a 1 minute walk to Adelaide station or to the bus stop at the top of the road. There is on street parking and I have never had any issue getting parked.
The house is a 3 bed mid terrace. Rent is monthly, £385 with one month’s deposit required. Landlord is very hands on and any issues get sorted quickly. The house is fully furnished. This does not include a desk in the bedroom. There is some space for a desk in the room, in front of the fireplace but that would have to be purchased by yourself.
I’ve been decorating over the last few months but still working on getting the finishing touches done.
There’s an outdoor space out back. It’s a bit of a work in progress. It has recently been re-tiled. Minor things like painting the fences and the gate still needs to be done. The landlord is also looking into getting exterior insulation installed in the next few months. Hopefully the work should not take too long. Overall it’ll be beneficial in terms of bills.
There is one main bathroom upstairs and a toilet downstairs. There is a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. I also have a TV, pretty basic though. All I have on it is Netflix and prime. There’s a cloakroom under the stairs. The kitchen has good space and there is also a pantry (please excuse the mess of it, it will be sorted before anyone moves in 😅).
Bills are not included in rent. I’m the lead tenant so I usually deal with it all and just request the money at the end of the month. WiFi is split evenly but when Nico leaves that will go up since it’ll be split between just two of us. I will do my best to get someone else in quickly but my priority will be getting someone in who I can get on well with, is respectful and will be a good housemate.
Electricity is based on usage. It is a top up. Any one can do it, I just usually end up doing it. I think I usually add on round £50 per month.
Gas is quarterly. I have only had one quarterly bill since I’ve moved in. It was roughly £60 per month, evenly split. That was for the winter months. That’s just an estimate, I cannot quarante it will be that much. Personally, I usually put aside £100 per month to be safe.
Please feel free to drop me a message about any questions you have or if you would like to arrange a viewing. Thanks :)
