Come take a look at what could be your bright double room in a top-floor, newly-redecorated, furnished flat with a fabulous view towards Crystal Palace and Kent.

I am often away, and am looking for a clean and tidy, reliable flatmate who will look after the flat like it is their own, in exchange for having the place to themselves most of the time. The flat is priced in between a whole flat rental and and a flat share with all the bills included, saving you around £275 over renting alone. It is ideal for someone who doesn't really want to share with flatmates but also doesn't want to pay London prices to have a place of their own.
The beautiful Sydenham Hill and Dulwich Woods are across the road in one direction and Sydenham Wells Park is across the road in the other. You can also walk to Crystal Palace park in less than 10 minutes and the Green Chain walk connects them all with other parks in the area. The flat also benefits from leafy surrounds on the housing association estate itself.

The flat was completely redecorated recently, with a new bathroom and floors. It has a good-sized kitchen with cupboards for you, and a recently-serviced boiler.

Your room is clean and simply furnished, giving you the space to add a desk or bookshelves if you like.

It is well situated for someone who works at London Bridge or Shoreditch or other stations on the Windrush line as Sydenham train station is around 15 minutes walk away or 3 minutes on the bus. A very pleasant walk across Dulwich Woods will get you to Sydenham Hill station in less than 15 minutes as well, from where you can get fast trains to London Victoria (and directly to Blackfriars in the morning or with an easy change to the Thameslink at Herne Hill to stations further north).

Lively Crystal Palace triangle with its pubs, restaurants and shops is about 20 minutes walk away, or 5 minutes on the bus. Up-and-coming Sydenham High Street is about the same distance in the other direction, and Forest Hill is not far either. The Dulwich Woodhouse pub is about 5 minutes walk along the road, and there is an independent shop that has most things one might need about 3 minutes walk down the hill.

The flat is in a fairly large, leafy 1960s ex-council estate, now managed by a housing association and with quite a few resident squirrels 🐿. The buildings are relatively far apart and most of the time, it’s surprisingly quiet.

Finally, please note, it’s hilly around here, which means both great views and plenty of uphill walking ‘fitness opportunities’ ;)

References and one month's deposit required.

Happy to consider shorter term lets of minimum one month + cleaning fees and 50% deposit (refundable of course, assuming no damage).
