This vacancy is for 1 fully furnished double bedroom in a friendly, professional 2 bedroom house in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen, although you will basically have the whole house to yourself which is explained below.

The room has a double bed and mattress and built in wardrobe. There is also a chest of drawers, black out blind and curtains. The room looks over the back garden and beyond to the pathways of nearby Scotstoun moor so it is quiet and a relatively nice view. Access to a loft is available via a pull down ladder on the landing for storage items that you may have.

The house has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen with breakfast bar, washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave and all the other usual kitchen stuff which can be shared. Fully double glazed and gas central heating with Hive heating control. There is a private numbered parking space which would be available solely to yourself as I don’t have a car.

For bills the rental cost includes Broadband wi-fi internet, TV with Google chromecast, council tax. Only bill not included is the gas/electric which is to be shared due to the lack of time I would be at the property. Previous lodger and myself contributed around £12 - £15/month each. This is a great house for someone looking for a quiet, easy life. The neighbours on both sides are excellent and the house has a decent size garden which is around 10m long by 5m wide, with a decking area, shed and a flowered border for anyone with green fingers.

A bit about myself. I am a 44 year old geordie, chartered engineer and split my life between Aberdeen where I work and Newcastle where my wife and 2 young children live. Before Covid i used to spend just a few days per month at this property however for now i suspect that i will not be spending much time at all other than potential ad-hoc days here and there. So essentially, you would have the house to yourself for a lot of the time. I am therefore looking for someone trustworthy who is easygoing and to almost act as a house sitter. I have a good relationship with the neighbours and so would not like parties to be held, loud music etc. I like a laugh, loosely follow football, boxing and am interested in films, history and the odd documentary but nothing too serious.
I am looking for a lodger who is either in employment or a mature student, aged 27 - 65 but i'm flexible for anyone sensible. Having previously served in the armed forces and also worked at sea, I am used to meeting and living with people from all backgrounds and am accustomed to respecting people’s opinions, privacy and personal space. Since i really will hardly be at this property, one of the conditions would be that you'd need to be happy to keep the front and back garden tidy (e. g. cut the grass every 2 weeks for example in the summer).

Nearby are both the co-op, ASDA, a few shops as well as Jesmond sports centre. The house may be suitable for anyone working at Dyce Airport and Bridge of Don Industrial Estate. Buses for the house are mainly the number 2 (City Centre, University, King Street, Sports village) which begins it’s journey in Ashwood just a stones throw away, and number 4 (City Centre, Hospital).
