We have a fully furrnished, bright, single room with plenty of storage place in a beautiful, spacious house. The room has a double wardrobe, mirrors, plenty of shelves, under-bed storage, study desk, and chair. 1 shared bathroom, downstairs cloakroom, study room, piano, TV, garden and washing machine/clothes horse. The house is very peaceful, located in a quiet neighbourhood. Aldi, CO-OP, Midan (halaal butchery and supermarket) and Sainsbury’s are less than 6 mins away, with the city centre a 20-minute walk.

Natalie: ‘I’m a psychology student, 25, and work part-time for a mental health charity! I like anything to do with general wellbeing, yoga, mindfulness, dancing, and art etc! I don’t drink too often but am always cooking and baking! I like listening to Radio 2! I am sociable, but also enjoy time to myself, I’m organised and like things to have a place! I’m a bit of a morning person and enjoy going for early morning Sunday runs (I may wake you!)’

Taskeen: ‘I’m a 29 year old PhD student from South Africa, in my final year! I study/work in education and development. I enjoy travelling and meeting new people from different places with interesting stories and backgrounds. I play squash, and I am perpetually attempting to make morning jogs a routine, although it seldom happens. I love cooking and enjoy intimidate deep discussions rather than crazy parties. I love socialising but equally love down-time and hibernating in my room.’

Preferences: It would be nice to live with likeminded people, it’s best if the new tenant is respectful of the house and housemates. We try to keep things clean and tidy. We don’t mind get togethers and guests staying over, of course, but this isn’t a wild party kinda house. We prefer someone who seldom drinks. As it is a student house, we prefer someone who is more quiet so as not to disturb others studying. A mature student (over 22 is preferable) in the same phase of life would fit in well! As it is a female house, we notify others if male guests are visiting, and try not to to have them over too often. No pets allowed, unfortunately.

Parking: Car parking space for 1 or 2 cars parked behind another in front of a garage, with the option to purchase a parking permit for a third car. There is space for 2-5 bikes in front of the house.

Responsibilities: We are responsible for the general maintenance of the house, cleaning, gardening, light-bulbs and cleaning products, etc. We have a house kitty for shared products. We have a 2-weekly rota for a full house clean. During the summer months the garden needs to be taken care of, watering, grass-cutting, etc. We have lots of birds, flowers and a few frogs living outside.

Rent: The total rent is £1500 split between 3 housemates. We each pay £500 directly to the landlord. He is great, very responsive and deals with any issues promptly. You will be required to pay a deposit of £750 and provide reference details to him. All the bills are divided between 3, approx £50-£80 per person depending on the season. Depending on the season (if you are not a student this will increase due to council tax). Wifi is included in the bills.
