The second bedroom in my house (which I rent) has become free so I'm looking for a new housemate. The room is a very large double with double fronted windows.

My room has an en suite, which means you'd have sole use of the main bathroom in the mornings. (I just use it in the day when working at home or for the occasional bath in the evening.)

The house has a lovely rustic kitchen/diner, a large lounge with views onto England's steepest street (which currently has a steady stream of people visiting Banksy's new pic of an old woman sneezing, as you do). There's a W/C on the ground floor, and a main bathroom upstairs with free-standing bath and panoramic views over the east of Bristol.

The house has a big garden that descends down 3 levels from the kitchen, and which looks out over the same open vista. (The garden pics are from spring/summer last year.)

The houseshare is pretty flexible and would suit someone who needs space to work or study from home. The house has excellent broadband with strong wi-fi signal throughout.

I work as a university lecturer, which is mainly home-based at the moment. I have a study in the house so I do my teaching online from there in the week 9-5. I'm pretty relaxed in evenings and weekends and doing the usual combo of skyping friends, going for walks, and running out of netflix to watch, as well as cycling and going swimming when the pool's open.

The room is being advertised as unfurnished as that's how the property is rented. However there's some flexibility over this if you need essentials like a bed, clothes storage, etc - just let me know and we can talk more. All the communal spaces have furniture that I've provided (as well as TV, kitchen equipment, etc.), with plenty of space for your stuff. There is decent storage in a couple of attic spaces, a cubby hole on the stairs, and some outdoor storage too.

The current tenancy runs until the end of August, so I'd ideally be looking for someone to move in from some point in February until then initially, although I'm happy to consider shorter lets too. There's then the potential to renew the tenancy after that.
