Seeking a new housemate for our green, queer friendly house share near Bow Road Station. We’re a relaxed bunch in our very nearly early 30s and looking for people aged ~ 28-35. We’re a mostly veggie household and don’t tend to cook meat in the house. Ideally looking for people who’d like cooking together sometimes and would be up for the odd board game /wine tasting/textile research night in the kitchen. We all cycle and have indoor bike storage. We are amateur gardeners and have a little patch of green space out front which gets the evening sunshine. We’re not a party house, keeping it quiet on weeknights, but we enjoy a dinner party and have some birthdays coming up in the autumn. We tend to order olive oil/toilet paper in bulk, and have started getting an oddbox, you’d be more than welcome to get in on this. We don’t have a cleaning rota per se but it’s important that we keep the place clean and tidy for one another - we usually write a list of jobs weekly and each choose one :)

Nicci
30, she/her, queer - originally from Liverpool but have lived in London around 7 years now. I’m a knitwear designer by training, and work freelance in several places including teaching at a university and in schools so I very rarely wfh. I drink A LOT of tea and generally have a stash of biscuits to hand. Usually up for a chat but do like my quiet time before bed. We have lots of plants I’m trying to remember to water, will appreciate your help in this. My partner is non binary they/them, quite often staying over/joining for dinner. This will be my 5th year in the house. It’s been a great place to really make into a home and looking forward to welcoming some new people :)

Susan
Hailing from Dublin, Ireland - I’m a 30 year old Irish girl. I’m a chatty, jovial character but I also like my own space from time to time. I love cooking and am pretty likely to bake an assortment of scones or crumbles for the house when the mood takes me. I also enjoy making communal meals and testing out new recipes. I moved here last July from Brighton and absolutely love exploring the area and discovering new gems. I like to climb at the Mile End Climbing Wall and swim at the leisure centre / London Fields quite often - if this is your vibe I’d be delighted to bring you along! I generally work from home so I’m always around but I also have a small studio nearby where I’m working on starting my own fashion brand. In my free time I love gardening, reading, going to gigs, lying on a blanket in Victoria Park and being a bit bougie ;).

Abel
Abel, he/him, trans. I'm 28 and moved to London last year to start my PhD in Media and Communications at LSE. This was my first home in London and I still cannot believe how lucky I was to find this place and these people. I'm fairly sociable and enjoy some communal moments in the kitchen and in the living room, but also like to keep to myself in my room. Biggest accomplishments in the house since moving in last September include getting everyone to watch Drag Race together and keeping the plants happy. My main hobbies are cleaning, complaining about the toxic London weather and working out in the park. I'm also always looking for company to go to queer events and spaces (:

The house

We have a big kitchen, dining table and the much sought-after living room(!) which gets lovely light in the morning and is a great place to chill. There is an upstairs bathroom with a bath/shower with great water pressure. There’s also a small toilet downstairs. We have a (NEW!)washing machine, microwave and oven/induction hob. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with pots and pans etc. but space to bring your own things if you like. Our wifi is reliable if you need to work from home; we tend to work from our rooms to keep the communal areas free. Location wise we are close to teh District line and Hammersmith and City from Bow Road (5 mins), DLR at Bow Church (<10 mins ) and Central Line from Mile End (<10mins) also Santander cycles about 2 mins from the front door.

The Room

The room is upstairs. It has a small double (4 foot bed) with additional wardrobe/storage space in the hallway. Two small sets of drawers are currently in the cupboard but there is space to bring furniture if you have any. Gets good evening light.

The room is available from 1st August, rent is £460pcm, bills are an additional £80pcm - our electricity bill recently doubled so we aren’t expecting another rise for a little while. Private Landlord so no agency fees, recently decorated rooms. Deposit is one month’s rent secured in the deposit scheme. Not sure if the landlord accepts housing benefit, but will require a reference check.

We will be doing viewings from the 17th to the 21st of July, please drop us a message if you’re interested and we will get back to you :)
