A double room is becoming available in our treasured home and we are in search of another person to co-create and live with us. The house is a detached Victorian stone manor with a large walled garden and eccentric residents. The rent is £400pm, excluding bills which are typically £50 (gas/electricity/60Mbps internet). Council tax is £47 per month.
We have a large, fully equipped kitchen, with a gas hob on a freestanding island. In addition, there is plenty of cupboard/fridge space.
Our living-room is a well curated and artistic environment, with film projector, professional sound-system and a pre-war German piano. It contains a library with an armchair reading corner, as well as a gothic writing desk. The room is designed with hunting-lodge-esque influences.
The bedroom itself is bright and spacious, with a high ceiling and fresh wooden flooring. It's unfurnished with a built in shelf unit. We will happily help out with finding cheap quality furniture for your room as we have a good know-how after having furnished the rest of the house from scratch on a tight budget.
If you drive, there is parking space available as we have a driveway. If you have a bike, we have a large backroom storage on the ground floor floor.
The location is well-situated: equal distance to the heart of west-end and city centre (10 minutes by bike). The house has a fascinating history and was built for the doctors of the nearby old Ruchill hospital. Just a few hundred meters away the Ruchill park offers a great walk and has a panorama viewing point over Glasgow and is also close to the canals.
For food purchases we are a 5 min walk away from a large Lidl store and 15 min to Society Zero.
We are looking for someone who is responsible, communicative, open minded, clean and tidy. Preferably someone who is artistically inclined and open to participate in creative endeavours.
We like to make and play music, invite friends over for dinner and have movie screenings. We have thrown art exhibitions and other types of house events, and aim to further explore what fun things we can do together. [pre/post-pandemic caveats apply]
Looking forward to hearing from you!
