Hey everyone, our housemate is moving out, and we are looking for someone suitable to take her place.
People of any gender or sexual orientation welcome. Ideally someone who shares values of self-expression, integrity, trust, generosity, open communication, social awareness and warmth. Queer/LGBTQ very welcome.
About us -
Marianne: Marianne: 31 year old writer who works from home. I’m into yoga, music, old films and books. Interested in building connection with flat mates. Would love to live with someone sound, fair minded, the right side of sociable and interested in contributing to a shared feeling of home.
Raphael: 32 year old, doctor by day. Most important values are health, sustainable living and human connection are important values to me. Spirituality is an important part of my life (predominantly meditation), and generally quite an alternative guy - most of my medical colleagues would classify me as a hippy. Quite active and work out a few days a week. Love food, but generally not a very exciting cook.
Our wish is to invite in another human who wants to not just have a place to stay but to co-create a beautiful living environment with a sense of community and togetherness while also respecting each other's need for space and alone time. We are still very fresh living together, and are still in the process of cultivating a home. We would appreciate someone who feels inspired to contribute to this.
Please drop us a short message about yourself, and what about the Advert inspired you to reach out, and we can arrange a follow up visit/call :) . Any quick messages such as "is this room taken" or questions that are answered in the description will be ignored, as we would assume you have not taken the time to read the advert.
We are looking for someone who will be staying for 6 months or longer if possible, though short term stays will be considered for suitable people if the room goes unfilled.
Practical house details:
The house is a spacious terraced house with a living room, kitchen, dining room and large garden, on a quiet road. Ther room is a smaller double bedroom -£320 for the smaller room pcm plus bills split equally. Bills are likely to be between 120 and 150/month - depending on time of year
It is 10 minutes walk away from Shawlands, 10 minutes away from 2 local train stations and 5 minutes away from Pollock Park.
We have a fully equipped kitchen (albeit a bit small in size), with a gas hob, kettle, blender. In addition, there is plenty of cupboard/fridge space. And also space for more appliances should you want to bring your own
Our living-room has a sofa and a sofa bed, a bookshelf, and a fireplace. There is also a dining room with a sofa, which also faces the main garden (north-facing) and thus a lovely place to have breakfast in the morning and for BBQs in summer! :)
The bedrooms are furnished with double bed and a built in storage space, as well as a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bedside cabinet
If you drive, there is parking space available as we have a driveway. If you have a bike, we have a shed at the back.
For food purchases, we are a 5 min walk to a large Aldi, and 10 minutes from a Morrison's and LIDL store.
Note some of the furniture has been moved around and changed since the photos were taken, so the room looks slightly different. This is because I ve used some old photos of the house. But the photo of the room is recent.
Sorry, the room is no longer available
