Our housemate has just bought a flat so now we are on the lookout for someone new to share our lovely house with!
**Move in date is Nov 20th**
Here's a bit of info about it, and please do get in touch with any questions
The room
The bedroom is on the top floor at the back of the house, looking out onto other gardens so it’s really quiet. It has a huge bright window and comes with a bed (with lots of storage space underneath) and built in shelving. You also get the use of a small space on the landing where you can fit a desk if you need to set up to work from home, or you could fit a wardrobe or drawers there instead.
There is also lots of additional storage space around the house like the loft, a big cupboard under the stairs and lots of draws/cupboards in the bathroom that we share.
The house
It's a period three bed house with lots of charm. The kitchen and living room are on the ground floor, one bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and two more bedrooms on the top floor. But the best bit is the very sunny and private garden, that we've been enjoying improving a bit more each summer, including our own vegetable patch!
The housemates
Most importantly though are the people! We all met through spare room and we get on really well. We all have our own social lives, but rarely hide away in our rooms when we're in. It's a sociable house - we all tend to chill out in the living room together and it's not unusual for a friend/sibling or two to come over for dinner. We have bbqs in the garden that we all invite our friends to.
Holly is a 33 year old radio producer originally from Cambridgeshire who has lived here for over 2 years. She's currently back in the office pretty much full-time. Laura is 31, from Sutton and works in the charity sector and moved in last year. She's mostly working from home still but is sometimes in the office. Ideally we'd like someone who is doing at least a couple of days in the office each week. The house is a really friendly place to be. We socialise together (even more thanks to lockdown!) - whether it's pizza and a film in the living room, a night out at the pub or a dip in the lido after work.
The area
Herne Hill is just great.
The house is a minute walk to the train station (10 mins to Victoria, or 15 mins to Blackfriars on the Thameslink. Also links to St Pancras, Farringdon and Elephant and Castle), buses at the end of the road to Brixton, Peckham, Denmark Hill, Crystal Palace and lots of other places. It's also just 15 mins walk to Brixton, but there's plenty locally too, including several nice pubs, beautiful Brockwell Park with the lido at the end of the road, and a fantastic market just a few metres away on Sundays.
Money
Rent is £710 each month and we each put around £90 into the bills account every month. The rent is paid on 13th of each month.
