A brilliant find for older professionals. A great little flatlet has become available in a freshly decorated, three-storey Victorian houseshare, available now. The house is a stone’s throw from Hampstead Heath in lovely, leafy Dartmouth Park.
On the ground floor, this is a quiet double room with main use of a small but perfectly formed ground-floor galley kitchen and shower/loo adjacent. The kitchen has direct access to the garden which has a terrace for summer dining. The bedroom is quiet and south-facing with easy garden access. It’s also fairly private. This little set-up has the independence of a flatlet with all the best bits of a house: warm housemates, bills split by four, communal sitting room. Rent is £1,300 a month excl. bills of around £150 a month.
The bedroom is part-furnished with flexible wardrobes/hanging space. It would be ideal for someone seeking a bit more independence, or perhaps a City worker needing a landing pad for a few days a week (Thameslink to the City from Kentish Town). We are also within striking distance of the Royal Free, the Whittington, UCLH and GOSH.
The house: Capacious and much-loved, the house has just been re-carpeted and decorated so it’s all tip-top. The first floor comprises an additional large eat-in kitchen, a large sitting room and bathroom with pretty stained-glass door to use. Being three stories, with two bedrooms on the top floor, the house never feels crowded and there’s plenty of storage. Outside, the garden is a suntrap - everyone chips in to keep it tidy - and there is place to store a bicycle securely. No pets for now, single occupancy and no smoking.
This is an older househare good for people aged roughly 35-55. It’s friendly but it’s definitely not a party house, although friends are welcome obviously. You'll be sharing with three funny, clever, busy women (yes, we’ll say that about ourselves!) aged 36, 40 and 43. Our interests include outdoor swimming, tennis, dance and music, travel, gardening, books, food, walking and cycling. Centre-left, fairly green, vaccinated. The landlord is engaged and responsive.
Facilities: The Heath across the road offers walks, swims, runs, tennis and, on weekends, a farmers' market. Buses 214 and 88 straight to town are two minutes away, Kentish Town (Zone 2, northern line, and Thameslink straight to the City) and Gospel Oak overground are 10-15 minutes' walk. Pubs, a Tesco Metro and Gail's all within striking distance. The cafés of Tufnell Park are 12-minutes walk away.
