Spacious double bedroom with a private bathroom in a 2 beds/2 bathrooms flat, 5-7 minutes from Elephant & Castle station (zone 1-2).
We are sadly leaving our beautiful home after 3 years as we are moving to France.
It is a spacious, fully furnished flat, located in the heart of a thriving and modern Elephant & Castle area, full of shops, amenities and restaurants serving food from all around the world - You name a thing, you have it at a 5-minute walking distance e. g. Morrison's, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Co-op, The Gym, Gymbox, as well as top rated Italian, African and Asian restaurants (around 10 new stylish restaurants and cafes opened since November last year as part of the Elephant & Castle development plan, though there's more to come as Mercato Metropolitano is also about to open) - If you're all about the nightlife Corsica's nightclub is also here!!
Your bedroom comes with a wardrobe, 2 bedside tables + lamps as well as 2 big chests of drawers and a Kallax Ikea unit that we’ll be leaving behind us. As you can see from the pictures the two big windows will provide it with a lot of natural light throughout the day as well, which is always good! You’ll also have access to a private bathroom (not inside the bedroom) equipped with a toilet, a sink, a shower over bath, a large built in cabinet with two big mirrors and a heated towel rail.
The living room is probably our favourite room to stay in, it is awesome for lounging as it has two big sofas (one is a sofa bed for guests) and a big wooden table perfect for movie / board games nights. The tv unit has a lot of space for storage too, we normally use it for our collection of board games. The room has a direct access to a balcony overlooking the communal garden and where you can enjoy a nice breakfast / brunch in the sun. The kitchen is located in the same room and it comes with a large refrigerator + freezer (both 1 year old), an oven, an electric hob and a lot of storage space for dry goods, glasses, plates, mugs and cutlery. The glass round table in the dining area can easily fit 4 people in if needed.
In the entrance there's a utility closet with a washing machine/dryer (1 year old), a hoover, a mop and space to store luggage.
The building is really modern and secure, it’s fully gated and anyone needs a fob to access it. On top of that, each floor requires different fobs, therefore only the 3 other neighbours can access your corridor.
If you receive lots of parcels, the building has a concierge working 5 days a week to sign in for your parcels and grant access to eventual guests or workers. We don’t cycle or have a car, however we’re aware that there are also a bike storage space and car parking for hire.
The current flatmates are a couple of young people working in the movie industry. They're super friendly and always down for a beer or even a shared meal. They love watching movies, playing board games, baking and cooking. We've had quite bad luck with all the previous flatmates but Fiona and Kris have been amazing and we're sad to leave them!
The rent is £990/month, the bills are roughly £150/ couple, I imagine it'll be less if only one person moves in. The bills include the electricity, water, council tax and a superfast BT wifi connection.
The agency taking care of the flat is Fraser & co, they're great, they fixed every issues rapidly and are very professional.
The deposit is £1020 and will be protected by the DPS. I'm not sure about any other fees as the law has recently changed but I could definitely find out if needed!
