A friendly older lady with reduced mobility and mild memory loss is seeking a Sharer for her home to give her a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. She would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking shopping, cooking up to three or four meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, carrying heavier items, prompts and reminders and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished single bedroom with own bathroom and shared use of the sitting room, kitchen and garden.

The property is in a lovely residential location on the west side of Peterborough, approx. 15 minutes bicycle ride, 5 mins by car, 20-25 minutes by bus to the city centre. There is parking available.

A retired teacher, the lady supported a Kenyan children’s charity after retirement and now volunteers for a homeless charity. She enjoys period dramas on the BBC plus news and quiz programmes, has a good network of local friends and friends through the church, and enjoys playing some games.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests.
