I'm looking to replace my flatmate who's sadly moving out to live with his partner. You would be signing a new tenancy with me (the current flatmate) from the 9th of January for the duration of 12 months.
THE ROOM
- Available 9th of January 2025 (can be a little flexible if needed for earlier)
- Rent 975 PCM (excluding bills) (it may go up a tiny bit, TBC with the estate agency)
- Spacious double room
- Furnished and comes with a double bed, a wardrobe, a drawer unit, two bedside units, a clothes rack, and a spacious desk
- Two big windows facing windows that bring in plenty of light
THE FLAT
- Well equipped kitchen/living room
- 1 bathroom shared with the other tenant
- Great size balcony
- Little storage room with a washing machine
- Dishwasher
- Good insulation (low heating costs)
- Young and vibrant community around. There is an active neighbors WhatsApp group chat for the entire building
- Flat is situated on floor 1 (but technically floor 2)
- Right outside the Deptford creek with lots of marine wildlife right outside your window
THE FLATMATE
You will be sharing the flat with me (Darijus):
- I'm 28 years old
- I work as a software engineer
- I'm originally from Lithuania
- I like travelling, long walks by the river, doing yoga at a studio just down the road, going to the gym, going to gigs, raves, having dinners and drinks with friends, etc
- I'm pretty chilled out but also up for a chat
- I'm vegan but happy to share most of kitchen equipment with you regardless of your diet
Once in a while (but not very often) I would bring a couple of friends for a dinner or drinks (and you are welcome to do so too, of course!).
YOU
- You are someone who cleans up after themselves in the communal spaces.
- Respectful and mindful of the other tenant (e. g. giving a little heads up when having guests)
- Does not smoke inside the flat (happy for you to smoke in the balcony though)
- Social but also mindful of personal space and privacy
THE AREA
The flat is just around the corner from the up-and-coming Deptford which has a good amount of hipster cafes and bars, ethnic restaurants, weekly markets, gyms, yoga studios, etc.
It's also just a 10-15 minute walk to the beautiful and touristy Greenwich town centre which has plenty of restaurants, traditional pubs, markets, riverside walks, museums, the Greenwich park and more.
The flat is situated in a very quiet corner but it is just around the corner from all the hustle and bustle. The only noise you'll hear around here is from the DLR trains going by due to the building's proximity to the railway line, however, it's not disruptive at all.
TRANSPORT LINKS
Well connected for rail transport. Being situated in Zone 2, it's only about 25 minutes DLR ride to Bank and 10 minutes train ride to London Bridge/Cannon Street/Blackfriars..
Easy to get to the trendy east end via the overground - Shoreditch High Street, Hoxton, Dalston, etc are only about half an hour away with overground trains running all night on weekends.
Lots of handy day and night bus routes to central. There is also an Uber Boat service from the riverside with regular boat transport to central/west/east London. There is a bike-only cycle route (Cycleway 4) all the way to central if you're into cycling.
Nearest train stations:
- Deptford Bridge for DLR (6 minutes walk)
- Deptford for National Rail (6-8 minutes walk)
- Greenwich for DLR & National Rail (8-10 minutes walk)
- New Cross for Overground (10-12 minutes walk)
AMENITIES
Nearest supermarkets:
- Sainsbury's Local (5 minute walk)
- Tesco Express (5 minute walk)
- ASDA (6 minute walk)
- ALDI (10 minute walk)
- Waitrose (10 minute walk)
- M&S Local (15 minute walk)
Nearest popular gyms:
- Better (with swimming pool/sauna) (4 minute walk)
- Meridian Fitness (5 minute walk)
- Pure Gym Greenwich (8 minute walk)
- The Gym Group Greenwich (15 minute walk)
BILLS & TENANCY
- Bills and Council Tax are NOT included
- Everything comes to roughly £120 per month extra (depending on the use)
- Heating is very low cost because of good insulation
- The current internet provider is Community Fibre (500Mbps) but happy to sign up to another provider
- Council Tax Band C
