Mature masters & PhD students, looking for respectful/considerate housemates.
Housemates can be students or professionals, though being a student does simplify Council Tax a bit. If you're a professional, please be aware that students will not be expected to contribute to council tax. Currently we are 50/50 split.
House is furnished and has been renovated throughout, hopefully as seen in the pictures.
The house is split over 3-floors.
All the bedroom furniture is solid oak, mattresses are new, as are kitchen units, carpets, bathrooms, heating, wiring, plumbing and the appliances including washer, drier, 5ft fridge, 5ft freezer, electric cooker, and electric power showers... *breathe*... just about everything.
House has double glazing so it's nice and warm when it's cold and wet out.
House has 3 double bedrooms and a single.
There are 2 bathrooms,
We have a back garden with a new set of chairs and table, though as winter draws in, we'll use it less, the spring and summer make it perfect for BBQs.
On-street parking is plentiful and the neighbours are nice, considerate people.
Should you need a bus for transport, there is a stop 200metres away, on Carmarthen Road. This stop has many routes but amongst others, goes directly into town. X11/12/13 I believe.
For prospective housemates, you will need to be -
Considerate with keeping the noise down late at night and not be a slob.
Remember to lock the door when you come in at 3am after a party please (yes, really).
Wash your dishes etc within a sensible timeframe, i. e. not 4-weeks like one housemate we had.
Be a relatively social creature and preferably be able to string a good conversation together - it really does help in shared accommodation when you can talk to your housemates. Crazy concept, right?! ;-)
And finally, don't be prejudice to peoples skin colour/sexuality/music taste/choice of sport/food/religion etc. We're just down for good people, regardless of what they like.
Though, for your knowledge, I(Scott) am white, straight, like drum n bass, jazz and breaks, am doing a Masters part-time and working. I like cycling, rugby, and I'm TRYING to force myself to run more, even though I'm rubbish at it. My film knowledge is awful, so if you want to educate me on that, I'll gladly accept.
The other housemate is 25, PhD student, surfs, likes music made by instruments rather than software and is super easy-going!
House no-okays - smoking inside (outside is absolutely fine). Narcotics - Don't care if you use them, you just don't keep them here - we don't need the hassle and it affects all housemates if your recreations provoke the interest of the police or 'unwanted' members of society.
Keep it in your car - fine.
Try keeping it in the house - get evicted and lose your deposit. Simple.
Rent is "plus bills", which will be split evenly between housemates. For those that don't understand what "Plus Bills" means, that means that you need to add the cost of bills to the quoted rents in this advert. We smashed the central heating throughout last winter and we all cook and run the tumble drier and bills come to "about" £50/month, per person.
Included in that "about £50" is gas, electricity, water, internet, TV Licence, Virgin TV bundle.
We run a separate 'kitty' where we all chip-in for household things like loo-roll and cleaning supplies, so things are fair.
Council tax is split evenly between working members of household.
We'd LIKE to have a mixed-sex household if possible because the girls keep the guys in check and the guys keep the girls in check. I've house-shared a lot and this has always been consistent.
It has been a while since I wrote a house-share advert, so if I have missed something, please send me a message to ask and I will also update the advert.
Happy to organise viewings if serious interest.
Many thanks,
Scott
