I am looking for a wonderful LGBT+ flatmate to join me in my flatshare!
The Flat
The flat is in a late-19th century mansion block in London Bridge, and as such is very bright and spacious with high ceilings, large windows, wooden floors, lots of storage and other quirky features like a fireplace. It is in council tax band C, and bills come to c.£150 pcm.
There is a large shared mezzanine lounge, split over two levels, which is furnished with two sofas, a dining table and chairs, and some other small tables. The bathroom has a bath and a shower, and is fully tiled with a heated towel rail. In the corridor that all the rooms are off, there are multiple storage cupboards which are shared. There is an excellent kitchen, with plenty of worktop space for cooking and eating. It has a gas hob, an oven, and a large fridge freezer There is also a washing machine, tumble drier, and dishwasher, as well as plenty of storage (more than enough for two people) and other appliances. The kitchen overlooks a park and is a lovely place to sit and have breakfast.
The Room
The room is a large double room which comes furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, and other storage. It is on the park side of the flat, so it has lovely views and is also very quiet.
The Location
The flat is in an ideal central location. It is about 7 minutes from London Bridge station by foot, 12 minutes to Bermondsey, and 15 minutes to Tower Hill, giving us excellent tube and rail connectivity. There are also excellent bus links with the 188, 47, 343, and 78 with 2 minutes walk, as well as other routes within five minutes walk down Tower Bridge Road and by London Bridge Station. There are excellent amenities in the local area, with a Sainsbury's one minute away and a Tesco Express three minutes away, as well as a Lidl, a big Tesco, and a big Asda a short bus ride from the flat. It is also ideally located to enjoy the restaurants, bars, and other sights of London Bridge, such as Borough Market, Maltby Street Market, Potters Field Park, with access to the Thames River about two minutes walk away.
About Me
I am 27-year old Secondary History teacher. I am a gay trans man, and its important that anyone who rents the flat is a member of the LGBT+ community or a strong ally. I am often out early in the morning to go to the gym before work, and while I do spend time at home in the evenings, I am not in every night as I play netball, or do karate. I am often out for a good part of the weekend too as I play rugby (although I'm currently injured). Aside from sports and the gym, I enjoy politics, history, cooking, and socialising with my friends. I have a very cute 9-year old Chihuahua, but he is very relaxed and likes nothing more than a cuddle. I've been sharing with my current flatmate for nearly 3 years, and we shared a previous flat together: I am looking for a new flatmate as they are relocating out of London for work.
About You
I am looking for a flatmate who is a member of the LGBT+ community or a big ally. I would like someone who is clean and tidy, and wants to keep the flat a nice space for both of us to share. It would be nice to share with someone who likes to talk, share a meal, or go for a drink, and is happy socialising in shared space, but also appreciates personal space. As I am a teacher, I will need someone who is understanding of the fact I am up very early, and doesn't want to have parties in the week- friends are more than welcome to come over though!
Please note I have added the photos from the original listing for now, but I will update with some more recent pictures soon.
