I will have a quiet, comfortable double room available in my Bear Flat home from September 2020, subject to Covid-19 restrictions, and am looking for a quiet, friendly and respectful, full-time student (Masters or PhD ideally) to occupy it. I have welcomed student lodgers to stay in my home for around 8 years now, and it has worked very well for us all.

I am seeking an occupant for the room for the whole of the 2020/21 academic year.

The room details are as follows: a double-sized room with a single bed with Vi-spring mattress, desk, chair, two wardrobes, one with drawers, bookcase, etc. Bedding provided if required. PLUS: Almost sole use of a shower room. rental: £550 per month, including bills.

My home has two bathrooms, and you would have almost sole use of one of these. Other rooms include the main sitting room, dining room, snug (small reception room with TV), three bedrooms and a kitchen with all the usual modern appliances and a utility lobby. We have gas central heating (up-to-date landlord's gas safety certificate), wired-in smoke and heat detectors and fast fibre broadband Wi-fi. To the rear is a pleasant garden with seating area, which you would be welcome to use.

Bear Flat is an attractive, safe and very convenient location, popular with families and students. There are parks with plenty of green space and terrific views, great local shops, pubs and cafes. The bus stops to and from town are located just a few steps away. The University bus stops are about a 5 minute walk away from home, and walking into town from home takes around 10 minutes.

With regard to parking, Bear Flat has recently become a residential parking permit area (zone 18). If you are a driver you would have the option to purchase the 2nd permit for this address for yourself for the time you are resident here. The cost of the 2nd permit is currently £160 per annum (see B&NES Council website for details).

The monthly rent indicated above includes bills and is based on the lodger being a full-time student for Council Tax purposes.

I have a 10 year-old shy but sweet-natured indoor cat and two grown-up children who live nearby.
