Hey everyone! Our housemate is moving out and my other housemate and I are looking for someone to join us!
The room available is a warm and cosy double 1st-floor room in our 3-bed house with a lovely living room and a small outside garden space. Rent is £540/month and bills (wifi, council tax, energy) comes to about £110/month and water about £60 quarterly. We expect this will go up slightly with the new financial year.
The house is on Franklin Road, close to Lewes Road, and nearby to several bus stops.
House is furnished, bed clothes rail and shelves can be left in the room or removed.
We are parking zone V, there is no waiting list and usually plenty of spaces.
We are both veggie (and Ash is dairy free). We don’t mind what you eat (the person moving out eats meat) but you will need a separate pot and so on to cook meat in, and be mindful of clean-up.
We are also lgbtq and use they/them pronouns. You must be accepting and understanding of trans people and polyamoury. If you can make that clear in your initial message to me that would be great :)
Accessibility
-flight of stairs to bathroom (and only toilet)
-two steps from bathroom to the landing where the bedroom is
-There is a hand rail but it is also worth noting the corridors are fairly narrow.
-ring doorbell
-a slight (5cm step from street to sidewalk, and sidewalk to door
You would be sharing with Max, Ash Bramble the hamster, and Beatrix the kitten. We are generally pretty busy, but when we have down time are up for a cup of tea/pint/movie night. We have a lovely big living room and occasionally have friends over, sometimes crashing on the very comfy sofa if pre-arranged with housemates, (and you would be very welcome to do the same). There is a desk in the living room that we each have a draw for and you are very welcome yo use it. We would prefer not to host parties/afters regularly (and try to keep nights quiet where possible), and any guests would need to be mindful of the pets. Please note that Bramble (the hamster) lives in the living room, and Beatrix has access to most of the house. We are both neurodivergent and keep on track of shared things with calenders. We are also mindful of Covid/other bugs, and isolate as much as possible when sick. We would expect you to be respectful of this, and to communicate about risks as they arise.
The agency is responsive and helpful, and have made adaptations for us to help with accessibility issues in the past. We don’t mind if you are a student, but you will be expected to still contribute to council tax as your student status will not reduce the total council tax payable.
Unfortunately, we are at our capacity for pets but you are welcome to play/pet/interact with Bramble, and Beatrix will be more than happy to befriend you!
The agency requires a guarantor, or may be open to up months up-front.
Sorry, the room is no longer available
