Clean, cosy single room available for rent in a peaceful location on Bateman Street, across from the Botanic Gardens.

The flat is extremely central, about 12 minutes walk from Market Square - and 5 minutes to the train station. Perfect if you work or study in the centre or near Addenbrookes.
This part of Bateman Street is very quiet but the (second-floor) flat is only a couple of minutes walk away from the high street with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The room has a single bed with comfy mattress and all bed linen inc. pillows and duvet included, large office desk, fancy office chair and lamp, chest of drawers and a wardrobe with drawers.

There is also a lovely living room, with extra storage available there, a Nespresso machine, loads of plants and lovely sunset views of Cambridge! I've also set up a TV, Nintendo Wii and a PlayStation 4 with lots of games and Netflix, so it's a lovely place to hang out. The kitchen has all the amenities and utensils including pots and pans, kettle and toaster and a brand new oven. The bathroom has a reasonably large electric shower and is almost always available as there are only two flatmates!

The room would ideally suit someone relatively quiet but friendly as it is a two-person flat, not really suitable for frequent entertaining or parties, but I would also be keen to hang out in the flat and around Cambridge. Two of my close friends (a couple) live downstairs so you'd immediately become part of our lovely circle of friends. We often hang out downstairs to watch films or have dinner together.

I speak Italian, Spanish and French (and can get by with German) and have lived in each country so if you are from one of those countries that would be a bonus but is definitely not essential! I work with international students at one of the Cambridge University Colleges so I'm a very internationally-minded person and love to experience different cultures. I'm quite clean and tidy so would like someone similar :)

This is a pretty good deal for this area that I have been lucky enough to get as the landlord is looking to have easy-going people that will take care of the flat rather than charge the highest price possible. It's pretty hard to find a place that is so central and quiet for this price and it's a really lovely neighbourhood.

The flat is ideal for professionals or postgrads. Bills (around £60 a month) and Council tax (also around £60, only if you're not a student) are not included in the rent, and as a professional I pay council tax and would of course be glad to split that with another professional. However I do still get a 25% discount if I live with a PhD student, so in the end choosing the most suitable and friendly flatmate will be my priority. :)
