We are looking for a new housemate for our four-bedroom houseshare who can cover the lease for someone who will be moving out.

This room will be ideal for a mature/postgraduate student. It is a double that comes with a wardrobe, a desk, and other basic furnishings, although there is scope to bring or buy your own. It is on the first floor of a bright and airy end-of-terrace property that was renovated to a good standard a couple of years ago.

We can offer a provisional move in date of 1st August 2023, but an earlier start is negotiable. The term of the lease will be one year.

The house is ideally situated between UKC (a ten minute walk up the Eliot Footpath) and the city centre (a fifteen minute walk through Beverley Meadow). We have no lounge or dining room space, but in terms of other communal areas, we have a garden, a conservatory, and a small TV room. There is also a small but well-appointed kitchen, one bathroom, a garage (which functions as additional storage space, but also has a tumble dryer) and a drive.

Bills are not included in the rent. We pay gas/electric and broadband monthly (£50 per person), television license every quarter (£10 pp), and water every six months (usually £120pp). We also pay council tax, which is between £60 - £30 each, but we may be entitled to a discount if the new tenant is a student.

Our home currently comprises two PhD students (in Film Studies and Maths) and a professional who works for a law term. Two of us have been living together for a couple of years now, whereas one of us joined the houseshare in February. We're a friendly bunch who get on and enjoy occasional board game nights together, although we are all busy people who do our own things most of the time. We also like to keep a clean house, and thus keep a weekly rota of chores. This house will be ideal, then, for a conscientious person looking for a quiet but friendly household.

This is a queer household, so being queer-friendly at the very least is a must.
