What sort of room is it?
We have a couple of large, double rooms and a smaller double room available in our unusually shaped Victorian end-of-terrace house. One large room is on the ground floor with a double East facing window, the other has a large West facing Window. They both have sanded floorboards and some furniture; a double bed, one has a sofa, both have a chest of drawers/clothes storage and a 'beautifully patinaed' (i. e. 'well worn') desk, plus some clothes rails and the like. We can possibly add or remove some furniture.
The smaller room makes the most of floor space due to having a custom built, double, mezzanine bed, built above door height, like a bunk bed that doesn't touch the floor! It has a desk and extra storage outside the room, again to maximise use of space in the room.

And what sort of house?
It's a colourful 6 bed house near the park, that's a really well-run communal house.. Not the scary sort with strict rotas and rules but one based on sharing and enjoying living together. The house has been a shared home for 30 years. We share food (rather than have 6 bottles of milk in the fridge), cooking for and with one another most days. It means that you cook about one evening a week and have a tasty, healthy meal cooked the other days. There's a wood burning stove in the living room to enjoy and no broadcast telly to make life even better!

Who lives there?
We are currently 2 women and 1 man, aged from late 20s to mid 40s, with various interests in woodwork, reading, cycling, tea drinking, writing, food growing, philosophy, music, mending things and cosy evenings around the fire. We are an international crowd hailing from around Europe, and use English as our common language.

Who are you?
We reckon that mixed gender and aged households are happier and healthier, however, we acknowledge gender fluidity and are primarily looking for the right people. There is no need to be within our age bracket, just willing and able to be part of a shared household and contribute towards a happy and healthy home. Organisational and practical skills may well be an advantage (the landlord is exceptionally 'hands-off'), but they aren't necessary. An interest in co-operative living or willingness to learn is a plus.

What about bills?
The rent (£261 or £232) covers all bills (but we're relatively careful with gas use so it isn't a hot house...) including council tax, water, broadband etc. It also covers a weekly, local, organic veg box, occasional Suma orders (dried and canned food goods, eco-cleaning products etc) so all in all, it's a really good deal. There is an easy system for making extra food purchases fair between each of us; the infamous German System, which is so good, it gets copied by other shared houses.

Please get in touch and **tell us a little about yourself and why are you interested in communal living**. Hope to hear from you soon!
