Local shops can be found in Bitterne Park Triangle, which is just down the road, and the house is a short drive (or 30-minute walk) to Portswood where two larger supermarkets can be found. For non-drivers, there are regular bus services into the city centre, and to the University and Southampton Airport.
Riverside Park is delightful with lovely walks along the River Itchen and an excellent café at Woodmill.
