UPDATE: a nice Greek girl (32, architect), with a DOG, has taken one of the two rooms!
Hi! Please message me quickly if you are interested; I am looking for these rooms to be taken ASAP.
CONTEXT: The two guys I was living with (Greek and American - were students, then finished uni and got jobs) have moved out and there are now two rooms free in the flat.
AREA: The flat is a cosy little 3 bedroom flat located on the 12th floor of a tower block near Warren Street. The location is amazing - I actually wonder if there are many better locations in London. It is a short walk to Warren Street, which is at the top of Tottenham Court Road, which takes you all the way into Central London; for example, if you fancied a walk you could walk to Trafalgar Square. It is also close to Euston and Kings Cross and both of these areas are viewable from the windows of the available bedrooms. Then there is the 'posher' side to the West, with Regent's Park (nice to visit during summer) and Marlybone nearby. Personally, I have found that most of my activity is in the Tottenham Court Road area and I don't tend to have much business towards the West. You've also got Camden to the north if that's your scene! It's easy to get there by bus.
Near Warren Street, there is a big Lidl - which is pretty amazing considering it's pretty much in Central London! That's where you'll probably end up buying your food. There is a Tesco over the road, and if you have a boujeeier preference then there is a little M&S close to Lidl and Tesco, and a bigger M&S further down Tottenham Court Road. The closest shop is probably a Sainsbury's, which is a 2-3 minute walk away.
Despite Warren Street and Central London being so close, the immediate area is resedential and is pretty quiet.
Between the building and Warren Street there is a square where the Facebook, or 'Meta' HQ is. There is a Starbucks and a Pret there; so you can go coffee from nearby (might be handy if you're working from home). There is also an Amazon Fresh just out of that square, and the Sainsbury's I mentioned earlier is close to there.
Basically, you'd be living close to cool areas and have lots of businesses in the area.
THE FLAT: Good sized rooms. 12th floor views of London. Decent amenities: gas cooker / oven, big American style fridge freezer, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and lots of storage space for your kitchen stuff. The only real 'meh' aspect about this flat is that there is no living room - it would be nice indeed but at the price could be worse. Previously I would chat to the other flatmates in the kitchen, hallway, and sometimes my balcony (yes I have the balcony room!), so it's still social, there's just not a communal room where you can sit down and chill together.
THE LANDLADY: a nice Ecuadorean lady.
RENT/BILLS: the rent is £850 with £50 on top for council tax. Water and gas are covered by the landlady. The only bills that need to be paid for are electricity (which will have to be topped up periodically) and internet, which I'd imagine will amount to around £35 - £40 / month. So, be prepared to be paying £940 / month for your accommodation costs.
ABOUT ME: I'm a 26 year old guy from the North East of England. My vocation is sales but I'm inbetween jobs at the moment. I studied psychology at Newcastle University. I am quite interested in people. I love music and I play guitar; if you move in you'll hear me playing electric guitar and you'll have to put up with that! I go to the gym and will start doing 5-a-side football again in due course. I appreciate a trip to the pub and spontaneity.
THE PROCESS: if you are interested, please send me a message and include: 1) a bit about you, 2) your monthly income or other means of paying the rent, 3) your current living situation, and, 4) how long you would plan on staying for. If you are suitable, then we can arrange a viewing.
