Hi there
As you can see from the photos, I have a lovely double room to rent...
About the bedroom
A tranquil, peaceful room. Furnished with a double bed, desk and chair, chest of drawers, shelves, and cupboard.
The room is available to rent from Saturday 1 March 2025.
About the house
Other rooms for lodgers' use are the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. The laundry has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen includes a microwave and dishwasher. Plenty of food storage, and fridge-freezer space. Use of plates, crockery, cooking utensils etc. included. There is also a walled garden. Plus, there is free on-street parking if you have a car and secure storage space for 1 bike.
About the neighbourhood.
Totterdown is a South Bristol gem! Fantastic Victoria Park is on the doorstep. Together with a great variety of independent food shops, cafes, pubs, bars and large supermarkets. It's a 10-minute walk to Temple Meads and a 15-minute walk to the harbourside. Bedminster is a 10-minute stroll through the park.
About me and my other lodger
I am a food systems/sustainability researcher at UWE and in the final stages of a PhD. So I am busy! Things I love include being in nature, cycling, walking, yoga, films, and jazz. I am open, friendly, and caring so it's important to me to have great relationships with everyone who lives in my house. If I have time, I am up for doing social things together. I am super-organised, clean and tidy. I am mainly vegan and do not drink alcohol.
My other lodger is great! She works for the civil service and is outdoorsy, sporting, foody, and environmentally interested.
As we have busy lives outside of home, we have a chilled, friendly and peaceful vibe at home. Both of us work flexibly from home and at our places of work.
Who I'm looking for:
- A friendly, open person who will fit in well with the chilled house vibe.
- Someone who is clean and tidy and considerate around the house.
- Someone looking to live in a vegan/vegetarian household or is happy not to cook or eat meat in the house.
- Being environmentally friendly is good too.
- Someone who does not drink too much alcohol.
Bills
The council tax (Band B) and TV license are included in the room price. Gas, electricity, broadband, and water are extra. The average monthly cost for the household bills for the past year was just under £90 per month per person. The bills are less than that in summer, more in winter.
I look forward to hearing if you think you are a good fit for my house.
Jo
