We are looking for a friendly housemate to join our spacious 4 bedroom house in Wimbledon, near Haydon’s Road station.

We have a double room available from October, however we also have a smaller double (spare bedroom) that could be rented if the new housemate needed somewhere until then.

The house is semi-detached and has a spacious garden which includes a covered patio area, large shed and a pizza oven. The kitchen is large, well-equipped and generally well stocked, with room for sit down meals. There is also a living room area attached to the kitchen, so you can watch TV or socialise whilst cooking. In addition we have another spacious front room with a TV and sofa area. This room can also be used as an office, for anyone wanting to work-from-home and occasionally it is used as a gym/yoga studio.

Location wise:

- Wimbledon – 15 minute walk; 6 minute bus – generally every 5 mins.

- Tooting Broadway – 25 minute walk; 10 minute bus – generally every 10 minutes.

- Colliers Wood – 20 minute walk (nice trip through park).

- Wimbledon Park – 17 minute walk;

- Haydons Road – literally just round the corner; access to Thameslink.

The Room:

Your bedroom is a decent size, but is likely not big enough to have a desk in the room. There is a large window that faces onto the garden, so you are not disturbed by traffic noise at night. It comes furnished with a bed, which includes drawers for extra storage. In addition, there is a utilitarian wardrobe, which also has three drawers. The wardrobe could be replaced if you have a larger one. The room next door also has a spare wardrobe, where you can hang any extra clothes.

Your bathroom is fairly basic, with a standing shower unit (no bath). It is wholly your bathroom, as the other housemates have their own private loos and en-suites. That said, since it is on the first floor, we generally let guests use this toilet, so be conscious you may have to share it when people come over.

Your Housemates

You will have 2 fairly chilled housemates. Kate (29/f) is a self-employed recruitment consultant who recently launched her new business and works 75% from home. Charlie (30/m) is a Digital Marketing Executive who pretty much works from home and has an office in the spare room. They are long-term friends who have lived together 4 years. The house is NOT a student house and we are looking for a tidy, relaxed and friendly housemate.

Charlie (works in marketing) is a good cook and prepares dinner most nights for the house. You are welcome to eat with us, but don’t feel obligated by any stretch. We have a communal shopping style, where we do massive online shops or big Lidl shops (10 minute walk) and then share. We are a house that socialises but only as you wish. We definitely don’t have that house that says, “come home for a nice house dinner, and forced jollity”, but it does happen organically quite a lot. Beers and wine usually come out on a Thursday evening, if we’re not out.

We socialise a lot and it’s not uncommon for friends to come by for a BBQ with little notice. So if you don’t enjoy bumping into randoms in the house, then it might not be for you. You’re always welcome to join or to stay for as long as you like. We expect good manners though, so be nice and say hi when you do see people! You’re welcome to invite friends over whenever also – and if it happens, it would be great to expand the networks!

You….

- Ideally 28y/o or older.

- Friendly, polite and low maintenance.

- Clean and tidy, willing to chip in when a big clean is underway. But don’t get passive aggressive if a few drinks mean some washing up is left till the following morning. The odd gardening session might be required every now and again too.

- Employed? – The house takes maintenance and with cost-of-living going up, we can’t give exact figures on bills, and we don’t want money to be an issue. That said we estimate these to be about £200-300pp a month.

- Enjoys good food, we like to eat healthy and nutritious home-cooked meals in the week if we're in.

- If you enjoy watching sport, that helps. It’s not all the time, but you should be prepared;
