Are you looking for a quiet, lovely room in a house with a pretty garden, and easy access to nearby York city centre?

I am a retired academic and author, and a pensioner and widower. I have recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease (hence seeking a gluten-free lodger). I have one lodger already – a French baker – who has been with me for some years. I am looking for a second medium- or long-term lodger.

I can offer a beautiful, light, spacious and fully furnished double room with workstation. Lots of storage space. There is shared, well-equipped, kitchen. Lodgers have their own shared shower room and toilet. All bills including council tax are included. Lock-up garage for bike storage. Near Acomb shops and bus routes. Off-street parking available.

I have had happy lodgers with me for over 15 years, both men and women. My lodger needs to be a non-smoker and non-vaper, respectful, tidy, and happy in a calm home environment.
Occasional working from home is fine, as are occasional overnight guests.
