Hi! I'm looking for a friendly, tidy flatmate to share my existing flat. The available room is a double bedroom with a built-in closet, and you'll have your own bathroom with a bath/shower (only occasionally used by guests).
The flat was renovated just before I moved in last year. It includes a large kitchen and living room, a balcony, in-unit washing machine and tumble dryer, microwave, and dishwasher.
We're around a 15-minute walk from York city centre and less than a 10-minute walk from York St John University. We're also under 5 minutes from bus stops with routes to the city centre and railway station.
Rent is £575 per month (excluding bills, which are split 50/50). All utilities, including Wi-Fi, are already set up and in use. The property is in Council Tax Band D.
My current flatmate is selling some furniture, including a bed and desk. If you're interested, let me know and I can provide more details. The flat is already well furnished, so I'd ideally like someone who isn't planning to bring lots of large furniture with them.
I'm a working professional with a fairly typical 9–5 schedule, although I occasionally work from home and sometimes in the evenings. I enjoy having friends over now and then, but generally prefer a calm and relaxed home, especially during the week. I'm quite clean and tidy and would like to live with someone who is the same. Ideally, I'm looking for another professional or someone completing a postgraduate degree.
I have coeliac disease, so I'd ideally like to live with someone who doesn't regularly eat gluten, or who is happy to be mindful about cleanliness and avoiding gluten contamination in shared spaces. This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, but it is something that's important to me.
The flat is completely smoke-free, including the balcony, and this would be a deal-breaker. If you have a pet, feel free to get in touch — I'd be open to a cat or dog, although I'd need to check with the landlord first.
If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to get in touch and tell me a bit about yourself! :)
