Hello!
I'm looking for a new flatmate because my current flatmate is finishing her PhD and will be moving out in October.
The flat:
We have a two-bed ground-floor flat, nicely set off the road in Redland, 10 minutes walk from Gloucester Road and 20 mins walk to Bristol University. We have a shared living space which includes a cosy sitting area and a kitchen, with big french doors out to the shared front garden which is a lovely space to hang out, read, or picnic with friends. We also have a private yard out the back which is where I attempt to grow veg! Access to the yard is only through my bedroom doors (see photo 3) but I'm happy to use the space communally.
We have a great letting agent who is very speedy with fixing things and the flat itself is quite new so very little ever goes wrong.
The room (photos 4-5):
Cosy double room with a window overlooking the yard and allotments. Currently unfurnished but you can buy some of the furniture off my housemate when she leaves.
About me:
I'm 27 and in my final year of a PhD in conservation ecology at Bristol Uni. I'm queer, left wing, and outdoorsy. I'm pretty social, and tend to be out a few evenings a week, seeing friends, wild swimming, climbing, or at events/gigs. I do also love a cosy and quiet night in to recharge, making art, knitting, or reading. It's important to me that the flat feels like a safe, tidy, and peaceful home, although I do also love hosting friends for board game nights or dinners - it would be lovely if you like doing the same! I tend to work from the office, but sometimes wfh (there's a desk and monitor in the living space which can be shared).
About you:
I would love to find a housemate with similar interests and who also wants to make the flat a cosy, clean, and tidy home. Looking for someone who is up for sharing the occasional meal or hanging out, but also has their own social life and hobbies.
Bills:
Bills aren't included and come to ~£50 per month. We don't currently pay council tax because we're both PhD students, so if you're a professional we'll have to negotiate council tax. You'll also need to show proof of income, references, and pay the first rent upfront.
Parking:
We have one reserved parking space under the block of flats which is sheltered and safe. However, I have a car so we would need to discuss usage, or see if you can get a permit for on street parking (there's always space on our road).
If this sounds like a good fit, please message me to arrange a viewing or zoom chat. :)
