**Collaborative co-living - warmth, friendship, food**
I’m looking for someone interested in collaborative co-living at Cables Wynd House in Leith.
The home I’d like to create has warmth, friendship, regular shared meals, good conversation, and practical cooperation around daily life. I’d love to live with someone who enjoys taking turns cooking most days, sharing food, talking about life properly, and helping the household feel calm, friendly, and alive.
I lived in Spain for many years, teaching English, until I became ill with ME/CFS. I’m now taking a functional health and biohacking approach to getting my health strong enough to work consistently, build a language-tech business, and move abroad again.
I’m 50, friendly, young-at-heart, and curious about a lot of things. My main interests are health, wellbeing, personal development, language, tech, startups, geopolitics, music, humour, and better ways of making life work. I like wide-ranging conversation, especially with people who enjoy thinking for themselves.
ME/CFS gives inconsistent and sometimes very limited energy, and my neurodivergence can make some household tasks harder to start or finish. Occasional paid body doubling is something I pay people for and you can opt to try this in exchange for a rent reduction. typical activities are decluttering, organising, batch cooking, and household jobs/DIY.
This could work especially well for someone who wants help with their English. I taught English for years in Spain, and I’m good at noticing pronunciation, grammar, phrasing, and vocabulary. I’d especially like to hear from someone who would enjoy that kind of assistance.
This may also suit someone with a caring vocation: warm, practical, patient, and interested in helping daily life work better.
The room has a king-size bed, 200cm x 150cm, with a firm pocket-sprung mattress, plus a large chest of drawers, wardrobe, lamps, desk, and chair.
The flat has a kitchen with electric cooker and oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge-freezer, second freezer for extra storage, and dishwasher. Council Tax is Band A.
The balcony has a patio heater, stools, and a small folding table, so it’s a lovely spot for breakfast, coffee, or a meal looking over Edinburgh.
The flat is close to supermarkets, pharmacies, post offices, and everyday services. Tram and bus links are good. Ocean Terminal, including the cinema, is about a 15-minute walk away. Leith Victoria, with its gym, 25m swimming pool, sauna and steam room, is about a 4-minute walk. There is also a wide variety of yoga and Pilates classes nearby.
The entrance and some parts of the flat are due to be repainted, and the building itself is scheduled for major improvements. It would be nice to share with someone who has ideas on how to make the house more of a home, and likes going on adventures to pick up furniture or appliances.
This would suit someone warm, curious, considerate, reasonably tidy, and interested in friendship, shared food, practical cooperation, and wide-ranging conversation at home.
Viewings on request. Please say a bit about yourself, what you’re looking for in a home, and what interests you about this kind of collaborative co-living arrangement.
