Our family is going back home to Portugal for holiday. I'll stay out for a week, while my wife and baby stay there for another week. As such, we are renting our spacious double bedroom (with its own bathroom) from May 18 til June 5. We are flexible with a couple of days here and there. No deposit or references are required.
Here’s a breakdown:
**ABOUT THE HOUSE**
A three-bedroom house with one spacious living room, kitchen, and two bathrooms…. One of which will be used by you alone, except when we have visitors around.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing/drying machine, dishwasher, microwave, blending machine, and more…
The living room has a 55-inch screen, with PS5 and cable TV. Our broadband is 500 MB.
All windows are double-glazed and the house is fully gas-heated.
**ABOUT THE ROOM**
The room has a double-sized bed and a spacious built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage space. As said before, heated and with double-glazed windows, equipped with blackouts.
It has plenty of natural light but is probably the coolest room in the house during summer days.
You will have some furniture in the room, including the bed, a desk and a nightstand.
**ABOUT THE AREA**
The house is a 3-minute walk from Kensal Green station in northwest London on the Bakerloo and Overground lines. You also have Kensal Rise overground station in just under 10 minutes.
It's in a residential area, slightly off the main road, meaning you don’t get any noise. It is also very safe to walk around at any given point. My partner has always made a point to stress the importance of living in a safe area.
A Tesco Express is located 5 minutes from the house… there’s also a massive Sainsbury's / Argos just under a 10m walk, plus a 24/7 gym (Anytime Fitness) and a Sports Leisure Centre with a swimming pool. Just next to it, there’s a dry cleaning store if needed.
We are also just under 15m from Ladbroke Grove, where you will find a variety of nice restaurants, bars and cafes.
Notting Hill, one of London's most iconic areas, is also just a 25m walk from our place.
Deliveroo and Uber Eats options are also very good… we personally love Sacro Cuore (sourdough pizza), Cinquecento Pizzeria, Meat Liquor, Beer & Burger, Five Guys and the local Indian restaurant.
The biggest assets in the area are Lexi (an independent cinema), Almada Bakery (a new Portuguese bakery spot that does the best "pasteis de nata" in London), Parlour (a restaurant known for brunches and Sunday roast), Bel's Pizza(a cute small pizza joint, Chamberlayne's (great sunday roast), and last - but not least - Paradise, the amazing pub/restaurant/nightclub in which the original flatmates decided to make Kensal Green their home.
We have also fallen in love with the (very popular) bakery "Layla" which is less than 15m away walking distnace)
**ABOUT US**
We (my partner and I) are working professionals. My partner is an illustrator/designer in her mid 30s and I am a 40-year-old journalist.
Both of us stay in our en-suite bedroom on the second floor of the house (so quite separate)... but you will only see me during half of your stay.
**ABOUT YOU**
You should be either a responsible master's student or a working professional between the ages of 19 and 50. You are tidy, clean, considerate, with a sense of humour and up for a movie night/glass of wine / cheeky meal.
**ABOUT MONEY & CONTRACT**
The rent is £800 per week (that includes bills and a cleaner who comes in once a week).
No need for a deposit since it's a short stay and we won't look into changing contracts for bills.
