BACKGROUND: After two and a half years, a current lodger is moving into a tenancy with her close friend. This has created an opportunity to rent a room in my home.
However, given my lifestyle and work commitments, you should think of it as an entire house to live in rather than a room; let me explain…
To be clear, I am a live-in landlord, and this is my main and only home. However, I am often away during the week, as I travel extensively (both in the UK and overseas) and I spend time with my partner who lives in London. This means that I only return occasionally, usually at weekends, to spend time with family and friends who live nearby.
As a result, you and one other lodger will frequently have the entire house to yourself for extended periods of time, with access to two reception rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, conservatory and, of course, full use of the garden. There is also ample off-road parking on the driveway.
THE HOUSE: The three-bedroom house is well maintained and has a calm, peaceful feel. It is situated in a quiet, private road in the Bassett Green area of Southampton. The room is sole occupancy. All bills are included.
The property is within easy reach of the M3 and M27 motorways, the University of Southampton campus, Southampton General Hospital and bus routes into the city centre. Swaythling railway station is around a 10-minute walk away, while Southampton Airport Parkway station and Southampton Airport are also nearby.
The house is fully furnished, has all the usual amenities including fast broadband, and is fitted with a burglar alarm system. I have a TV licence so you may use the television/s in the shared lounges.
THE IDEAL PERSON: This would ideally suit a mature person looking for a quiet and comfortable place to live, work or study. This would equally suit someone seeking a Monday to Friday rental or full time.
