I'm looking for a friendly, considerate housemate to share my home in a lovely, quiet part of Abingdon.
The house is in a great location, around a 10-minute walk from bus stops with regular services into Oxford, or a 30–45 minute cycle via a well-used, mostly traffic-free cycle route. There is also Aldi a 5min drive away and Peachcroft Shopping Area is nearby with a Morrisons.
The Room is a freshly decorated double bedroom with a brand new mattress, fully furnished with:
- Double bed
- Desk and office chair
- Lamp
- Chest of drawers
- Shelving
- Over-bed storage
- Bin
You'll be sharing the bathroom, kitchen and living room with just me.
The rent includes all bills:
- Electricity
- Water
- Council Tax
- Broadband/Wi-Fi
- TV License
There's plenty of free on-street parking available. The driveway is only big enough for my car, but parking on the road is rarely an issue. There's also plenty of room in the garage for secure bike storage.
Well-behaved pets are welcome (subject to interview! 😄). The garden is fully enclosed, although there's no cat flap just yet. I'm open to getting a cat myself in the future, so I'd be looking for someone who's happy with that possibility. Equally, if you already have a pet, I wouldn't unexpectedly introduce another animal without talking about it first.
About Me
I'm pretty easy-going and enjoy a balance between relaxing at home and keeping busy. Between work, taekwando training and volunteering with Scouts I'm often out and about, but I also enjoy quiet evenings at home, watching a film or just unwinding.
My family and friends pop round from time to time for a coffee, dinner or the occasional board game evening, but it's generally a calm, relaxed house rather than a party house.
Who I'm Looking For
I'd love to find someone who's friendly, communicative and considerate. Somewhere we can have a chat if we're both around, but we're equally happy doing our own thing.
I'm fairly house-proud, so I'm looking for someone who'll treat the house as a home rather than just somewhere to stay. I don't expect perfection, but I'd appreciate someone who keeps shared spaces reasonably tidy, washes up after themselves and generally respects that we both live here.
