Hello! We have recently moved into this spacious family townhouse in a quiet gated development right beside Brockwell Park. I'm a writer/filmmaker dividing my time between here and France, with one daughter, 26, who is going away to study, so she will be away most of the time. We have 2 spare bedrooms on the second floor which are rented to lodgers.
We’re looking for a quiet, friendly, respectful lodger. Our lodgers have always been very happy with us (we’ve moved from very nearby).
The room is a beautiful, bright double room overlooking Brockwell Park, which gets the dazzling morning sun through the treetops. It would suit someone who wants a tranquil home from home, with a sense of the countryside in town. I am in the process of changing the room around, so the pictures are just a guide - there will be the bookcase, a desk instead of the chest of drawers, and the huge cupboards with lots of shelves and hanging space. There's new carpeting, double glazed windows. I can supply bedding. The en-suite bathroom was newly refitted at the end of last year.
You’ll have use of the kitchen with fridge and cupboard space and the washing machine. (I’ll be removing the blue chest and adding a small table and a couple of chairs.) All bills included, fast wifi.
We are one minute from the entrance to Brockwell Park, with its huge outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, membership gym, 5km running circuit and cafe.
Great transport links:
Brixton tube (Victoria line, and easy transfer to Northern line at Stockwell) is a 12 minute walk or 5 min bus ride. Trains to Victoria (8 min), Green Park (11 min), Oxford Circus (14 min), Waterloo or Charing Cross (20 mins).
Herne Hill train station is 8 minutes walk through the park - direct trains to Blackfriars (10 min) and St Pancras International (22 min).
Tulse Hill train station (15 mins walk) - direct to London Bridge (17 mins) or East Croydon (change there for Gatwick airport).
Lots of good buses. From
Brixton to the house, take the No 2, 432 or 415 to Craignair Road.
