It suits someone in full time office-based work, out Monday to Friday — as I work from home and need the flat calm and quiet during the day. Previous guests have included architects from Foster + Partners — their offices are a 10 minute walk across the park, making it an ideal base.

The flat is fully equipped and quietly elegant. A marble countertop kitchen, filtered Quooker tap, steam oven, and one well-appointed bathroom shared between the lodger and me. Unlimited broadband, all utilities, council tax and TV licence are included — nothing to think about beyond your monthly payment aside from the cleaner.

The real perk is the location. Battersea Park is on your doorstep — tennis, paddle, Pilates, yoga, organic farmers markets, cafes and riverside walks. Chelsea is a short distance across the park. Battersea Park and Queenstown Road stations, Nine Elms tube and frequent buses are all within 1-2 minutes on foot.

Sharing the flat is a small, house-trained Maltese with impeccable manners and a friendly disposition — ideal company for someone who appreciates a dog without the responsibility of owning one. Please note the flat is not suitable for guests with their own pets.
