Looking for a comfortable, convenient and well-equipped place to live in Birmingham? I’m looking for a student from any university to take over my tenancy at Mary Sturge, Aston University, from 12 September 2026 to 27 July 2027 (318 nights).
The room is a **Large High Double priced at £184 per week, with bills and Wi-Fi included, making it much easier to budget for the year. The tenancy is being transferred directly to a new tenant.
Why this room?
You’ll have your own private ensuite room, fully furnished with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe, under-bed storage drawers and plenty of additional storage. The room gets lots of natural light, and because the flat is on the 9th floor, you get fantastic views across Birmingham, including the city skyline and beautiful sunrise views.
The flat is a mixed 5-bedroom flat with a spacious shared kitchen and lounge, allowing you to enjoy a social environment while still having your own private space.
Fully equipped kitchen
The shared kitchen has everything you need for everyday student life, including:
Fridge-freezer • Oven • Electric stove • Microwave • Kettle • Sink • Cupboards • Dining table
There is plenty of room for cooking and storing food. A range of useful household items are also provided, including a hoover, iron, ironing board, brush and pan, mop and bucket, so you won’t have to start from scratch.
The kitchen is shared between all five residents, with cleaning responsibilities divided fairly between flatmates.
Secure, convenient accommodation
Unite Students provides 24-hour security, and access to the building, common areas, flat and individual rooms is controlled by a key fob. The building also has:
Lifts • Laundry facilities • Study spaces • Bike storage • Emergency exits • Wheelchair-accessible automatic doors
Maintenance is particularly convenient: you can report problems through the Unite Students app, making it easy to request repairs and get assistance. The app also provides access to a friendly community group chat, helping residents stay connected with others in the accommodation.
Visitors are permitted in accordance with accommodation rules, while the bedroom remains allocated to one resident. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building, and smoke detectors are installed in the bedrooms and kitchen.
Fantastic Birmingham location
One of the biggest advantages is the location. You can walk to Birmingham city centre, the Bullring and Birmingham New Street Station, making the accommodation ideal for students at Aston and other Birmingham universities.
Plenty of everyday essentials and food options are also nearby, including Tesco, Costa Coffee, Greggs and Rios.
Flexible payment options
Rent is £184 per week, with bills and Wi-Fi included. Payments are normally made in three-month instalments, but you can switch to seven instalments to spread the cost more evenly across the academic year.
There should be no additional charges provided the room and shared kitchen are left in good condition without damage. A £250 payment towards the first instalment may be required when arranging the new tenancy, although Unite Students should confirm the exact requirements.
Overall, this is a great opportunity to take over a bright, spacious, fully furnished ensuite room in a secure high-rise building, with excellent city views, plenty of storage, included bills and Wi-Fi, strong transport links, and a wide range of facilities. It offers the convenience of student accommodation while giving you your own comfortable private space in the heart of Birmingham.
