Sadly my current housemate is moving in with his girlfriend, so I am looking for someone to fill the third bedroom in my house. You get a bedroom looking out onto the garden, so lovely and quiet. The room has a bed, bedside table, bedside lamp, wicker chair, desk, chair, wardrobe, and an IKEA storage cube. You’d be free to add / change the room and furniture if you wanted. The current housemate brought a big TV and re-arranged the room to fit it in, which you would also be welcome to do.
We have a shared kitchen, dining room and living room which we all use. We tend to share cutlery/ pans etc. just for convenience, but very happy to keep them separate if you have food allergies etc. There is also a nice sized garden which is lovely and sunny in the summer. There is outdoor seating and grass to stretch out on.
We have a shared bathroom but it's incredibly clean and we've never had an issue with sharing! We split the house chores between us and the bathroom is cleaned every weekend.
There isn’t parking for the house specifically, but there is free parking on the road outside the house and no one ever has an issue finding a space. There are also three bus stops at the top of the road, so public transport links are really accessible. We live right around the corner from Harborne highstreet so there is a nice variety of shops nearby.
Currently two people live in the house. I am finishing off a PhD at the University of Birmingham, which is only a 15-20 minute walk away, and 15 minutes from the med school.
*IMPORTANT* We are currently exempt from paying council tax because we are students. However, this situation will be changing in the near future as I finish my PhD at the end of this academic year. If/when that happens, it would add approximately £60 per person per month on top of the £650.
Ideally a new housemate would be someone who is clean, reasonably quiet, and happy with a relaxed house vibe (we prefer house movie nights and take aways vs. clubbing)! I have a dog - he's a small Pomeranian who will bark when he first meets you because he's a coward, but will soon be very friendly and will be demanding attention from you!
