About me:
I am a retired psychology lecturer looking for someone to share my home with. I am independent and active (cycling, swimming, yoga) and enjoying spending time outdoors as well as reading or writing in cafes or libraries. I am well-travelled and speak fluent English, Dutch and French and basic Italian and German. I need my space but would like a tenant with whom I can share a cup of tea or the occasional evening meal. I am a recovering alcoholic and therefore I am looking for a tenant who does not drink (at least not at home). My son (18) may stay one or two nights a week with me. I smoke one or two cigarettes in the evening outside on the balcony/in the garden so someone with a similar habit would be welcome but no chain-smokers and absolutely no smoking indoors!
About the property:
The living room, dining room and kitchen are on the ground floor and are cleaned fortnightly by a cleaning service.
The room for let is a converted basement of 50 m2 with an en suite bathroom (shower and bath). It has French doors that give out onto the shared garden. Rent is £900 p/m for an individual and £1200 for a couple. This includes all bills, broadband and council tax. If the tenant works from home full time I may ask for a contribution towards electricity and gas.
It is possible to buy a residents street parking permit.
Please note that there is no sofa.
Neighbourhood amenities:
There is a bus stop 5 minutes walk from the house which is serviced by the 1 (direction Hove) and 7 (direction Brighton station). Local shops, Lidl and Co-op are also five minutes by foot and Asda is a 5 minute drive.
The Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton Marina and the beach are all within a ten minute walk.
Sorry, the room is no longer available
