Hi I'm Beth. I am finishing a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol. I am renting a 2-bed flat in Cotham from a friend and looking for a new housemate for the second bedroom since my current housemate is sadly moving to London for a new job!
The flat has been completely redecorated and furnished during the last three years. The room is a small(ish) furnished double room with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is space for a small desk or dressing table. There is a shared living/dining room with two sofas, TV and 6-seat dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a fridge-freezer, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine (no tumble drier or dishwasher). There is one bathroom with a high pressure shower over the bath. The boiler has been recently replaced and the heating works well and can be controlled by an app.
The flat is on the top floor of a converted house and has lovely views over Bristol (there are quite a few stairs!). It is a short walk to the University of Bristol/Hospital/Stokes Croft/Gloucester Road. The flat has a shared small garden at the back, there is no off street parking but permits available for parking on the road.
I am an easy going and friendly housemate. I work full time in the lab so am out during the day in the week, although I may be at home the occasional day. I am clean and tidy and looking for somebody who will respect the space and each others privacy/quiet. I am also keen to find a friend and up-for catching up at the end of a work day for shared cooking/wine/films and going out to pubs etc. I've been in Bristol for 4 years and can give recommendations and already have many friends in the city.
Rent is £600/month plus bills (currently approx. £60/month each for water, gas, electricity and wifi). Since I am a PhD student I am exempt from council tax. If you are not exempt you will need to pay this but can get a single-person discount, it is band B so it will be £114/month.
The landlord is my friend and is local and is keen to keep the flat in good condition so responds quickly to any problems. She is relatively flexible with contracts, deposits etc.
Please get in touch if you think this would be a good fit and we can arrange viewings/catch up over a drink towards the middle of May.
Initially available June to September, with the potential for longer term let.
Thanks! Beth :)
