We’re looking for a friendly, considerate female lodger to rent a double room in our spacious 3-bedroom house in Speedwell, Bristol.

Room is available for 1st July but we can be flexible on move in date as we'd rather find the right person. We're also flexible on length of stay.

Ideally we are looking for someone that can help us with looking after our pets when we are at work or away on holiday. So this would be perfect if you love animals and can work from home at least a few days a week. We are happy to negotiate a rent reduction based on how often you would be able to help out. We've included more info about our pets below and included pictures!
The room is fully furnished and overlooks the garden, making it a calm and pleasant space.
The house is large and well laid out, with plenty of shared space:

Location:
The house is ideally located within walking distance of St George, Fishponds and Kingswood, with a bus stop just around the corner offering a short and easy ride into the city centre.

Rent:
£475 per month due on the first day of the month. We can negotiate this and reduce it if you'd be happy to help out with looking after our pets Alba and Athena, this would be our preferred option.

Deposit is £475 and we will ask of a contribution towards bills of £150 a month, payable on the first day of the month. This includes council tax, water, gas, electricity and WiFi. It might increase if prices go up in the next few months.

About us

You’d be living with Federica and Emily, a couple in our 30s. We bought the house a couple of years ago and we've been redecorating/making it a home! Federica works in schools, and Emily runs a videography business and also works as a postie.
We’re a pretty quiet household - our party days are behind us! Evenings are usually spent relaxing after work, watching movies, playing board games, or just unwinding at home.

The furry housemates 🐾

We have a dog and a cat, so loving animals is a must.
Alba, our 1-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, is very friendly, loves people, attention, and playtime!
Athena, our 5-year-old cat, is more independent and enjoys her own space, but can be very sweet once she gets to know you.
We are looking for someone that will fit in well in our household and that includes getting on with Alba and Athena! We recommend giving Alba lots of cuddles and giving Athena her own space until she comes to you.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who would be a good fit for the household - friendly, respectful, and easy-going - someone we can get along with and who’s happy in a calm, homely environment.
Ideally we would like someone who fits in well with our routines, has similar interests and is open to socialising and spending time together. You will probably be more comfortable if you are used to getting up early on week mornings, as we are all up early and Alba and Athena aren't always quiet about it!

We would like someone that can help out with looking after Alba and Athena, and we would be happy to negotiate a rent reduction based on how much you can look after them.
We both work outside of the house, usually leaving around 7am and coming home around 2/3pm. We are looking for someone that could stay with Alba during this time, and let her into the garden in the middle of the day. If you work from home and you love dogs this could be ideal as all she requires is someone to snuggle up next to and go to sleep 😂
Athena doesn't need looking after day to day but both pets will need looking after a bit more when we go on holiday. At the moment we have a big trip booked for the whole month of January 2027. During this time both pets would need to be fed twice a day and Alba would need to be walked twice a day and looked after during the day. We can book dog walkers and ask friends to help as well, as a month is a long time, but if you can look after them for at least some of that time that would work better for us and the pets, as we hope they'll have a good relationship with you by then.
