Hi. We currently have a massive loft room coming up for rent straight after Christmas in our sunny house share in Montpelier.

The room has super high ceilings and covers the whole of the house (but for a little landing outside the room's door). It's furnished. Three velux windows. Feels a bit like a self-contained studio apartment (but without cooking/bathroom facilities en suite).

The house itself belongs to me (so live-in landlord) but has always operated as a house share, so hopefully it doesn't feel too much like 'living in someone else's house'. It's a high-ceilinged, end-of-terrace Victorian maisonette (no garden, I'm afraid... though we do look down on one at the back) with lots of character... working fireplace, massive sash windows, ceiling roses etc. and - I'm told - slightly quirky decor. One bathroom with toilet and shower over deep, Victorian bath. The kitchen is huge, with two big sash windows, and is where we generally congregate. Great for cooking and eating together.

You'd be sharing with me, Rew... mid-forties, work in theatre/acting and teaching (on the whole) and into my sailing and travelling... and Luana, 30ish, a super-relaxed French statistician who enjoys her Thai boxing when she's not crunching numbers.

Location-wise we're about half way between Stokes Croft and St Werburgh's 'strip'. Takes about 15 mins to walk into Cabot Circus or to run the other way up to the green fields of Purdown. Only a couple mins drive from the M32. There's space in the house for a bike if, like me, you cycle.

We're looking for someone who's fairly independent, like us, but, nonetheless, understands the importance of putting in some good energy and efforts to the house and our little community... someone who enjoys a good chat in the kitchen, meals together every few weeks and the odd board game etc... someone who gets involved and looks after the space (both physical and 'interpersonal'). Not too bothered about age/gender/occupation: main thing is that we all tick along together happily.

We have a cleaner who comes for a couple of hours every fortnight... so that seems to keep house-cleaning squabbles to a minimum, too (!) That's included in the price.

I don't ask for a deposit: rather I ask that you put one months rent aside yourself with a view to covering any accidental damage etc if/when that arises.
