Hello. I have a furnished, double room available to let in my calm and cosy 2 bed house on a quiet road, on the edge of Victoria Park in BS3. It would suit someone looking for a mid term rental who doesn't work full time from home (part time is fine though!)
The bedroom is currently furnished with a double bed, desk and shelving as in the photos. The items that are on the lower shelves in the pictures will not be there. The room looks out over the garden and is very tranquil.
The house
You'll be sharing the rest of the house with me, Kate, and the cat 'Bear'. There's a kitchen with all the usuals (including a washing machine), lovely bathroom with bath, shower and lots of light. There's a garden out the back which will be in bloom come the summer. There's also space for a bike if you have one. One thing to note is that there isn't very much storage space in the house generally so if you have a lot of stuff, this might not be the right place....
Location
Victoria Park is a sprawling bit of green filled with trees. It's a really friendly, safe area, just a 15 min walk from Temple Meads station, 23 min walk from Whapping Wharf and the harbourside and 30 mins from Cabot Circus. Just up the hill to the east you're in Totterdown, over the park is East and North St - filled with bars and eateries etc.
About me
My current work is as a web developer but not so long ago I was a music teacher so playing music is one of the things i like to do. My other interests are cooking good food (i am vegetarian but you don't need to be), swimming, dancing, sewing/crafting and gardening. I like home to be a calm and restful place and so i keep things fairly clean and tidy and i would like a housemate of a similar mindset. It's my own home so I look after it, but I'd like whoever lives here to feel like it is their home and space too and i would like it if we could share meals sometimes if one or other of us is cooking and just generally have friendly vibes.
Monthly breakdown
On top of the rent of £500, the included bills are council tax (band B), water rates, broadband (all 3 of which are fixed and currently comes to £120 per person). The energy bill is the only bill that is not included as the usage varies month by month. Once i get the bill through we can just split that between us but to give you an idea it is usually between £60 and £100 (so we'd each pay half that). So all in, it'll be around £650 in summer months and maybe more like £670 the winter months.
