We're looking for a lodger. It will be living with the landlady, one other female lodger and one dog and four cats. I'm a screenwriter, and our lodger is in her 30s and is a lecturer in Theatre at the University. The house is in Greenbank/Easton on a street that was once voted the friendliest in Britain. It is close to St Marks Road cafes and shops and is about a half hour's walk to The Bearpit or approx. 20 minutes on the bus.
The following would be the ideal candidate, but I'm absolutely open to other possibilities:
• female,
• employed or a student,
• over 24 years old,
• work/study in some kind of creative/arts/drama industry
• be a motivated individual who likes to be busy
You would need to be a tidy person and a good communicator and happy to cook a meal for the house to share together once a week (we take this in turns). Ours is a quiet and organised home and we would welcome someone who would appreciate such an environment.
I write from a room at the bottom of the garden and spend a lot of my time staring out of the window while I process stuff and need that to be uninterrupted time. I get up at 5am and am very active (walking the dog, visiting the gym etc). It would be great to have another person living in the house who is easy to get on with and shares some interests, so I don’t become a total hermit (for example: film, art, literature, knitting/dressmaking), but who also lives a busy life and won't be sitting in their room on their computer 24/7.
You will have you own large furnished double room and will share the bathroom with the other lodger. You will have use of the kitchen/dining area as well as the garden (weather permitting). The sitting room and the loft rooms/bathroom are for use by my daughter and me only.
The room is available beginning of March.
Please do get in touch if you think you'd be a good match - we'd love to meet you!!
P. S. I think unfortunately we can't accommodate any more animals - not without upsetting the neighbours at any rate!
Council Tax Band B, but included in rent.
