I am leaving my room in a house in Bermondsey shared with three of the loveliest people!
As I am moving out before the official end of my contract, you would be signing a lease from July 6th until September 6th, so this is ideal for short-term renters. We are waiting to hear back from the landlords as to whether the lease will be renewable in September, but I am hoping to have this sorted out ASAP!
The room is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, two chests of drawers, a small glass-topped desk, and a desk chair, as well as two mirrors. It has a nice view of our garden, which has plenty of flowerbeds and an outside washing line which is great in the summer!
The house includes a shared kitchen, a dining room/living room area with a sofa and a dining table, and upstairs there are two bathrooms, one large and one small, the smaller with a toilet and a sink and the larger with a toilet, sink, bath, and shower. We have a washing machine and a dryer in the kitchen and the living room, and the kitchen also includes a fridge, oven, stove, and microwave.
You would be moving in with Mel, Laura, and Drashti, who are a PhD student and two professionals, and have all been lovely to live with! We all run on slightly different schedules, so there is never a queue for the shower, but we often meet in the kitchen and dining room and have a nice chat. We split the energy, water, internet, and council tax bills (Band D) between us, which generally come to around £111 in total. We also have a cleaning rota, and rotate who cleans each communal room each week.
Our street is lovely and quiet, with a big Tesco only 8 minutes walk away and Asda and Lidl just a bit further. Buses into the centre of London are 5-15 minutes away, depending on the direction, and Bermondsey tube station is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk.
