This room is being advertised on behalf of a gentleman in his 90s who is seeking someone to share his home at a low cost, in exchange for some light help around the home.

In return for low cost accommodation of £170 pcm, he would like approximately 10 hours of support each week. This will providing companionship, occasional cooking, helping with the odd cup of tea, in addition to being present overnight five nights per week. No help is needed overnight, it’s just to be around in case there was ever an emergency. The householder has carers who support him throughout the day.

The room is large and furnished. You would have access to a bathroom (yours only- shared if family visit occasionally).

The ideal homesharer would be friendly, kind, willing to help and , tidy.

Canterbury University is 20 mins drive away. It is approx. 30 mins walk to Whitstable town centre. There is public transport, but the area may be better suited to a car driver.

As part of our Homesharing scheme, you will need to have/or apply for a recent DBS check and provide two references. You will also need to complete an application form which will be emailed to you. The only fees payable are our monthly fees of £170pcm (so you will only pay £170 per month for your room or £320pcm if you are a couple). A DBS fee of £30 is required and will be requested once you are successful.
