🌊 Lovely Double Room in a Creative, Peaceful Home by the Sea – Folkestone
£575 pcm + bills | Available immediately | Unfurnished

I'm looking for a lovely housemate to share my spacious, light-filled home in Folkestone, just a short walk from the sea, town centre and train station.
Having recently moved to the coast, I'm enjoying creating a home that feels warm, welcoming and full of character. I'd love to find someone who appreciates a peaceful living environment, enjoys the occasional shared meal or good conversation, but also values their own independence and personal space.

The room and home
The available room is a good-sized double, unfurnished, with plenty of space for a hanging rail, chest of drawers and your own personal touches.
The flat is full of natural light, with beautiful bay windows and a spacious living room.
One of my favourite things about the home is that the living room is a TV-free space! It's somewhere to listen to music, read, dance, move, meditate, enjoy good conversation or host the occasional dinner party. You're very welcome to have a TV in your own bedroom.
We also have our own lovely garden, complete with a lawn, beautiful tree and BBQ. Perfect for sunny afternoons, outdoor dinners or simply enjoying a little peace and quiet.

The home also includes:
• Spacious, light-filled living room
• Shared bathroom
• Washing machine
• Fibre-optic Wi-Fi
• Private garden with BBQ
• Excellent transport links and local amenities

Location
The flat is in a fantastic location for enjoying everything Folkestone has to offer.
• 5-minute walk to Folkestone Central station
• 7-minute walk to The Leas and beautiful coastal views
• 10-minute walk to Folkestone town centre
• Easy access to local shops, cafés, restaurants and the creative community
Whether you commute, work from home or simply love being close to the sea, it's a lovely place to be.

A little about me
I'm a friendly, creative and optimistic person who recently moved to Folkestone to enjoy a slower pace of life by the sea.
I'm a singer-songwriter and run my own career coaching business, so I work hard during the day and enjoy making the most of my downtime.
I'm Buddhist, plant-based and enjoy meditation, live music, being outdoors, going to the gym, healthy living and good food. I also love discovering new places, meeting people and hosting the occasional dinner with friends.
I'm sociable and enjoy sharing music (including drum and bass, live music), food and conversation, but equally appreciate quiet evenings and having my own space.
I like to keep a clean, tidy and peaceful home, and would love to share it with someone who feels the same.

Who I'm looking for
Ideally, I'd love to find someone who is friendly, open-minded, considerate and independent.
Someone who enjoys their own life but would also be up for the occasional shared dinner, exploring Folkestone together or simply having a good chat over a cup of tea.
It would be lovely to live with someone who is creative or interested in the arts, music, enjoys an active lifestyle and appreciates a welcoming, inclusive home.
A vegetarian or vegan housemate would be a bonus, although it's not essential.
A hybrid worker would be ideal, as I also work from home and enjoy having a balance of company and time to myself.

A few important things about sharing the home:
I really value a clean and tidy living environment, so I'd like us to have a regular cleaning rota and both take responsibility for keeping shared spaces lovely.
I'm also conscious of energy use and would appreciate someone who is similarly considerate about household bills.
The home is non-smoking and non-vaping indoors, and unfortunately, pets aren't permitted.
I enjoy having friends over occasionally and would love for you to feel comfortable doing the same, while being mindful of each other's space, routines and need for downtime.
Ultimately, I'm looking for someone who wants to create a comfortable, harmonious home rather than simply rent a room.

The practical bits
Rent: £575 per month, excluding bills
Deposit: £575 (equivalent to one month's rent, held as a security deposit)
Available: 28th September
Room: Unfurnished double
Bathroom: One shared bathroom
Household: Sharing with one other person (me!)
Pets: No
If this sounds like somewhere you could feel at home, I'd love to hear from you!

Please send me a little introduction about yourself, what you do, your interests and what you're looking for in a house share.
Looking forward to meeting my future housemate! 😊
