I am subletting my large ensuite room in South London while I am away. The room is bright and comfortable, with beautiful open views, and the house is surrounded by nature, hills and rivers. It is a rare peaceful pocket of the city.
You would be sharing with my wonderful flatmates, so I am looking for someone with a community minded and respectful attitude. This is a calm home, so it is not suitable for anyone who enjoys hosting parties.
**Location and transport**
The house is in Zone 3 and has excellent transport connections. There are fast trains to London Bridge and easy links to central London via the Overground. It is ideal for anyone who wants a break from the intensity of central London while staying well connected.
This room would particularly suit someone looking for a quiet reset, a peaceful period of work, or simply a more grounded base with easy access to green spaces.
If you are interested or have any questions, you are very welcome to get in touch. I am happy to discuss the price for the right person.
**Important information**
Our house has a community minded approach, which means we follow a few shared guidelines. Everyone takes part in the weekly cleaning rota, and we keep things as quiet as possible after 11pm.
You are welcome to invite people over for a coffee, a chat, a film or to join our house dinners, but as this is the room I usually occupy I would prefer that you do not have overnight guests. We often organise activities together and you are warmly invited to join in.
Regarding house dinners, each of us cooks once a week, which means everyone enjoys a homemade meal on three or four evenings depending on who is around. The meals are genuinely delicious and after eating here you may find you do not want to dine anywhere else. If you are not in the evenings people cook, you can always request a Tupperware. We are flexible about your participation in the cooking rota, but it is important to note that the kitchen is in use and unavailable from around five in the evening on dinner days. This means you may need to plan ahead if you prefer not to join the cooking rota. You are still welcome to use the dining room, although meal preparation would need to be done earlier in the day so that the person cooking has full access to the kitchen from 5pm.
You will be sharing with two women, one of whom is doing a PhD and one who is an artist, one man who works as a professional translator and performer, and one non binary person who works in theatre and is currently qualifying as a therapist.
The house itself is very large and you have the whole of the third floor to yourself, so you will never feel short of space. We also have two large gardens, a spacious living room, a kitchen, a dining room and a utility room. This amount of space is very unusual in London.
When contacting me, please tell me a little about yourself and how you feel you might contribute to our community approach.
