A genuinely big double, fully furnished and available now. It's a large room, roughly 3.6 × 4.2m, the biggest in the flat, with wooden floors and a big sash window, with easy space for a double bed, a large oak wardrobe with drawers, a proper study desk and its own sofa. There's no separate communal living room, but you won't miss one: the room's big enough to be a proper lounge in its own right, and with your own sofa you've got your own living space rather than sharing one.
Brand-new bed and mattress being installed before move-in, so nobody's slept on it.
The real draw is the location – right on the City / Shoreditch fringe, with three stations within a short walk:
- Liverpool Street – ~9 min (Central, Circle, Elizabeth, National Rail, Stansted Express)
- Moorgate – ~9 min (Northern + Elizabeth line – Canary Wharf, Heathrow and the West End all direct)
- Old Street – ~5 min (Northern line, with the "Silicon Roundabout" tech hub on the doorstep)
You can walk to almost everything from here: the City / Square Mile is a few minutes south, Shoreditch's bars and restaurants a few minutes east, and Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane around 10–15 minutes. Finsbury Square and the Whitecross Street lunch market are close by, and Mark Street Gardens, a leafy little public park with a striking Victorian church on it, is literally around the corner.
Rent is £269 per week, and that's the whole number, every bill included: gas, electricity, water, council tax and broadband. One fixed payment a month – nothing to set up, nothing to split or chase, no winter energy surprises. Your rent is your entire cost of living here.
The kitchen and bathroom (shower, WC, basin) are shared on paper, but in practice the other housemates barely cook, so the kitchen is effectively yours. There's also a clean, well-kept shared laundry area for washing and drying; there's no room for a machine inside the flat, but the facility is tidy and works fine.
The room's also quiet at night, which for somewhere this central is genuinely rare and worth far more day to day.
The flat's on the third floor. Your housemates would be a couple of quiet, easy-going mates – sociable and friendly, but it's a calm flat to come home to, not a party house.
