We are looking for a couple to take over a double bedroom with an attached private study space in a two-bedroom apartment (SE5) nestled between the vibrant neighbourhoods of Elephant and Castle and Camberwell.
Please note, this listing represents Scenario 2, where a couple occupy this room and the living room remains a living room. For Scenario 1, where an individual occupies this bedroom and the living room is being used as a third bedroom, see the spareroom listing: 18312621
About the apartment: This charming, bright Victorian duplex comes fully furnished. The apartment is ready to move in with all furnishings, equipment, linen, etc.
The space is a warmly inviting apartment located in the heart of a designated conservation area in Southwark Borough. It is a quiet road, a short walk from the bustle of London.
The apartment has easy access to the city centre - a 30-minute bus ride/20-minute bike ride to central London/15 minutes to Tower Bridge - and is a 5-minute walk from Burgess Park. Our closest tube stations are Elephant and Castle, Oval, Kennington, and Denmark Hill.
There are multiple grocery stores within walking distance, such as Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrison’s, and Lidl. There are also a few libraries and a post office nearby.
This two-and-a-half-floor apartment offers a unique and stylish living experience, complete with beautiful wooden floors made from reclaimed school wooden tiles.
Adjoining the double bedroom is a dedicated study room with a long desk and office chairs. The bathroom has a bathtub and a shower, with a shower curtain. It also has storage space and a washing machine. There's also an outdoor bike shed and storage.
Please note that the apartment is split-level, requiring you to navigate stairs to enter on the first floor, proceed to the second floor, and access the bathroom on an intermediate floor.
The house has a living room and a spacious kitchen with a four-seater dining table.
About the room: The double bedroom on offer features a double bed, ample storage, and a wardrobe, as well as a private adjoining study. NOTE: However, due to fire regulations, the double-size bed will be moved to the study area, while the double bedroom area will need to be used as a secondary room/study.
About the current flatmates: The apartment is currently occupied by one male working professional. He is nice and friendly, loves living a clean life, and respects others' privacy.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a working professional couple who are tidy, respectful, and mindful of others’ privacy. We take really good care of the apartment and have a great, respectful relationship with our landlady, who has been considerate and very responsive to our needs. We often do our part in maintaining the house, whether it’s coordinating repairs or handling other required tasks. Since the apartment has wooden flooring and surfaces, it requires some special care and attention, such as keeping the rooms well-ventilated or being careful when placing hot appliances on the kitchen counter. We’d love to share the space with someone who treats the apartment as their home and takes responsibility for housekeeping and paying bills on time.
We are a pretty chill and quiet household. Everyone values their own privacy, while also occasionally hanging out to explore, play card/board games or cook together on weekends. It hasn’t been a party house, but we do have guests over and enjoy hosting from time to time.
Maintaining cleanliness is important to us, especially in common spaces. No shoes inside the house, beyond the shoe rack, is a firm rule. We also follow a weekly rotating cleaning schedule to keep the house clean and comfortable for everyone.
The monthly rent is £2,200 and will be divided three ways between one tenant and the couple. Utility bills, including council tax, average around £130 per person per month.
Available to move in from 16 July onwards.
