We have a sunny room (with a single bed) to rent in our home in east London. It's available from 01/09/2025 and although we can be flexible on exact dates, this is a short-term let.

We are very central but in a quiet area with three parks nearby. We are close to bus transport on Hackney Road with the 26/55 routes which are also night buses, we are very near Hoxton overground station and a short walk from Shoreditch. We are within easy walking distance of Liverpool St/Old St and have some free overnight parking on our street for visitors.

It's a comfortable, bright, family home with a garden. We have a sitting room with tv, a kitchen/diner with everything in it you need including washing machine, dishwasher and other equipment collected over the years. You must be happy living with our things as it is fully furnished but you are welcome to use everything. You will be sharing one bathroom (this house was built before en suites existed) but the room is your private space and the rest of the house is yours to enjoy too. You will sometimes have the house to yourself and there is a lot of other space here so we hope you will really feel the house is your home too.

We are looking for someone who is friendly and sociable and who goes out to work or study. You will be sharing with two others who go out to work and we are not looking for anyone who works or studies full time from home because we are paying those bills!

It would suit someone looking for a room in London for work/study short term, or maybe who is new to London, or from overseas and trying to eventually find a more permanent place in this area.

We are well-travelled, respectful and family oriented. We are busy doing things most of the time but like the occasional shared tv nights. We grow things in our garden (but we are not able to accommodate pets) We go out to the theatre, we love music especially salsa, reggae & soca. We go to carnival, school fetes, festivals. We enjoy football and other sports and all the other amazing things London has to offer, especially in our local community. We are hard working but not obsessed with work, and a bit noisy sometimes but this is definitely not a 'student house'.

The deposit will secure the room until you move in. We have no fees, no hidden extras or nasty long contracts and you will get your deposit back when you leave as long as you look after the house and our things. There are NO BILLS on top. You must be clean and tidy and be ok with sharing the cleaning, but no one goes into your private space.
