We have a large double ensuite room available in our flat. You will be sharing with Marc and Harrison (partners).
The flat is very large with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, large well-equipped kitchen, big dining table, living area, separate laundry, and balcony.
The room has a queen bed, lots of storage (closet, bedside drawers an additional closet outside the room), and air conditioning. We are advertising this room at £1450, however we have some flexibility to change rooms and offer another one in the flat at £1300 (also with ensuite and air conditioning) for the right person.
The flat is located on the canal, just off Kingsland Road. There are great transport links with Haggerston Station on the Windrush Line and all the Kingsland Road buses very close. We are an easy walk to Broadway Market, London Fields, Victoria Park, Shoreditch and Dalston.
Harrison has lived in the UK for four years in total across Leeds, Oxford and London. He will start pupillage in October and is hoping to become a barrister focusing on human rights and the environment. He enjoys the pub with friends, live music in the area, queer nights out, summer music festivals, Crossfit, and is currently attempting to return to rowing.
Marc has lived in London for the past two years. He works both as a commercial lawyer in the energy transition space and also pro bono lawyer running his law firm’s refugee law program. Although he doesn’t often get the chance during the week, on weekends, Marc loves to cook for and entertain his friends, late nights around the dinner table or at the rave, and occasional nights in to recuperate. Marc is also very passionate about making a space feel like home so please be nice about the interiors.
We both work from home two or three days a week, so there is usually some home each day. The flat is generally quiet and relaxed during the week and on weeknights, with some late night working sadly required. On weekends, friends, family, dinner parties, pres, all very much welcome and encouraged.
We want the flat to feel like a home and are keen to find someone with their own thing going but who wants to have shared experiences together. You will be replacing a close friend and we want to continue the supportive friendship vibes.
We are looking for someone who is clean and tidy. We are planning to arrnage a cleaner for the communal areas and bathrooms once per fortnight. Toether with all bills, your portion will be around £150.
A few final points:
- We often dogsit for two lovely whippets, so you need to be comfortable with dogs.
- We often have friends and family visiting from around the UK and Australia who will stay in one of our rooms (usually for one or a handful of nights at a time). Of course you are also welcome to have guests, and when we are away and not subletting, we are very happy for people to crash in our rooms.
- The flat is fully furnished so there is no need to bring furniture. However, there may be some flexibility to remove existing furniture if you have your own that you love.
