Lovely, newly decorated, sunny and bright double en suite bedroom in five bedroom Victorian house between Wandsworth and Clapham commons, available August and September (2 months approximately).
Great location close to Northcote Road with all its quirky independent shops, bars and restaurants, along with excellent transport links.
The room is in the loft at the top of the house, so it's very bright, light and sunny. It has wooden flooring, a king size bed, bedside table, chest of drawers, large desk, lots of shelving for books etc, and a hanging rail for clothes. Because it's at the top of the house it is also very quiet and private. The en-suite has a bath with a shower above it, a sink and a loo and comes with all essential toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
There is also a small sitting room on the 2nd floor (one floor below the bedroom) which you would be welcome to use whenever you like complete with sofa and vast TV.
As for the rest of the house, it's a five bedroom Victorian terrace in a very nice area of SW11 - between Wandsworth and Clapham Common, so loads of green space on our doorstep, and only a stone's throw from Northcote Road which is great for shopping, eating and drinking!
Clapham South on the Northern line is the nearest tube (0.7 miles), while Wandsworth Common is the nearest railway station 0.5 miles away. Clapham Junction is a mile up the road, and you can get trains from there to pretty much anywhere! And there are buses galore, should you want to whizz up to the Kings Road or wherever.
I currently live here with a 20-something female lodger, who is here until the end of July. However, the house is more than big enough for everyone - it's on three floors, so very spacious. There's also a nice little south-west facing patio garden which is a real sun trap.
A bit about me - I work from home on a part time basis as a freelance journalist, so appreciate my privacy and peace and quiet at home during the week, so would prefer someone who doesn't work from home on a regular basis, though obviously I don't mind the odd day here and there.
Regarding rent, I'm looking for £1500 a month which would include all bed linen and towels (should you need them), utility bills, council tax, wifi and Netflix. Also essentials such as loo paper, washing powder, cleaning products, and kitchen basics such as herbs, spices, oil, tea, coffee, vinegar etc would all be included.
